My visit to one of those "fancy" restaurants, where they don't give you enough to eat, you've got too many utensils to choose from and they haven't paid the electric bill 'cause it's all lit by candlelight!

I think Kent is a pretty good replacement. After dodging the throwing Hatchets from the Democrats and Republicians we need someone like Will Rogers to add some sanity to America, we seem to have been derailed somewhere along the line! So it is a good thing the Kent Cafe is open sided to allow the tall Texas Tales to vent outside! Y'all have a Great day hear?

So true: can’t get full on fancy! Went to a really fancy place in Montreux on lake Geneva...10 course “meal” with 15 pieces of silverware. It took 3 hours to serve and each time the waiter brought a plate I was thinking this is going to be to big one! But never came, only little micro portions not even snack sized. Anyway 3 hours and $150 later I was so furious and hungry I went to McDonald’s and filled my belly in 10 minutes for $15.

Im a old country boy and back in my youth i spent some time in South Florida doing some work , before i went there i had never even been on a airplane before, well anyway some of the guys I worked with were from big citys up north and they kinda took a shine to me I reckon . They told me they was gonna take me out to a fancy restaurant for supper . So i got all duded up and we went to eat. Just like you i was not impressed with it , for pretty much the same reasons. They could tell i was not having a good time and asked me what i thought. I told them that for a fancy restaurant the place wasnt that good cause it didnt even have a jukebox. They didnt know whether to crap or wind their wristwatch over that.

" 740 people washing dishes!!" You should have turned around and left when you saw all the candles. Man, you can twist a story like you twist your way around that cooking tent, Mr. Rollins. Funny buddy!! So many of us are glad you came on the internet. We don't have to waste time looking for something good to learn from. Thanks.

Welcome to Carls Critter Cafe, that is why it was so Dark, but, true story, one time in Riverside California we were enjoying some Mexican food, and into my salad jumps ole la cukaracha from a strip of wood around the ceiling. The manager was down right gentelman about it, he did not charge me extra for the live protein!

Bet there were some fancy prices attached to that fancy named establishment with the fancy atmosphere serving those fancy tidbits (the dim light is so you can't really see what they're serving ya). Made me chuckle. Thanks for the story. - Marc Stauffer, Enterprise, OR.

This past August I was sitting in a restaurant inside a Doubletree Hotel in San Jose Costa Rica. I thought the place was closed it was so dark. Ended up using the flashlight on my cell phone just to read the menu. Ended up asking for some more light to see the food on my plate so I could cut it up. What is management thinking? Trying to save money on electricity?
