In this case it wouldn't matter because smoke pretty much kills oxygen therefore a gas mask can't filter it you need a oxygen tank connected to a mask

For those who are multicultural: Use the smoke bomb locations and objects to conceal from the sight of thick smoke clouds behind. Troops also used smoke grenades to hide from enemy soldiers. You can view the spot on the ground using the Armory (like for example, helicopter landing places). Or throw smoke bombs or firing.
