One of my two favourite Massey channels, CowfarmerDan with vintage Thursday and Clarence Fud-Weasel, (the no nonsense channel) thank you for the video Dan.👍

Very good as always. Was doing this and halfway through the lining cracked and split. Using the same kit as you by the look of it. Manufacturer will replace but said don't over tighten them....

That is a good tip using the string to undo the springs

I think all you need is your own Dan to do the job for you🤔🤣. I might have to break into the ferry at some point, her brakes are shocking even though they were redone a few years ago 🙄🤦♂

Nice one Dan, When I did the brakes on an old tractor, I had no idea about the little anvil etc, so bought shoes with the linings bonded. Looking forward to Part 2 and the drum repairs (? lathe ? )

Can it do any real harm leaving it as it is. Low speed work and not too much of it. Surely take years to have any effect and eventually the new lining will just comform to the grooved hub. In fifty years time someone else can agonise about it.

Yes, probably would be OK to reuse the drums on a low mileage tractor, I try to do things properly for videos though.
