I use the same brand test strips. I have made the local health department in Detroit Michigan aware of their inconsistencies, showing them proof of what I was talking about. They are completely unreliable and I have been using them for the past few years every day. You can use 10 strips and get many different results from the same batch. Unfortunately it is the best tool we have right now and it is best to use a couple strips if at all possible and if anything comes up as Fentanyl- You best believe that there is fentanyl in it. If it did happen to be a false positive at least you would have your life still. Much love from Detroit Michigan..

Percocet is not Fentanyl. You should used a test to test for Opioids. Drugs in Mexico can be bootleg; however, most are imported from Europe and India. Either way your Fentanyl test should have shown both lines of no Fentanyl was detected.

I visited Cozumel in 2022. Even jewelery stores were selling xanax & other prescriptions. I didn't see any opiates but I didn't ask either. Terrifying...

A little overly dramatic, thanks to the strict regulation of pain meds people have turned to more dangerous alternatives, I.e fentanyl, herion, etc. Reality is people will always take opiate meds, why not make it at least safe.

They have made it to where people who need the medicine can no longer get it or they can’t get the strength they need. It’s sad that because of a lack of information at the start of this issue so many people now have to live their lives in constant, chronic pain.

I'm permanently disabled now and on top of that was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Guess what ? I can't get my pain meds prescribed as the manufacturer recommends. Once again I can't get my pain meds for my spinal injury that permanently disabled me. At the manufacturer's stated dosage requirements. I'm supposed to be getting 8 pills a day I'm getting 3. So guess what I spend most my day in unbelievable pain. I had to cancel a doctor's appointment today because I'm bed ridden due to pain. Even just the thought of having to climb into my truck sends a shiver down my already mangled spine. I'm not a druggie and have never have been. I pray that people like you wind up in my shoes and have to live the nightmare I'm living.

We weren’t testing for oxycodone. We were testing for the presence of fentanyl, just as we did in a border town in Mexico previously. If you go to the trouble to purchase one pill and make a video, the least you could have done was to have a spectral analysis of the substance, otherwise this was a waste of time , you really don’t know what it is, even if was to be actual precast , just a different formulation or tablet press

Seriously? The bottle it came from is clearly visible and the pill that he sold us doesn't even match the pill photo on the bottle. Two US pharmacists also confirmed that the pill was definitely not a Percocet. The test we used was the only testing option we had with us. Correct, we don't know what it was. However, we know absolutely that it was not an actual Percocet.

Fentanyl test strips test for fentanyl. The pill they gave you was not fentanyl so it tested as not fentanyl. Percocet (which is the brand name for Oxycodone with Acetaminophen at dosages of 5, 7.5 and 10mg of Oxycodone and 325mg of Acetaminophen aka Tylenol) is sold in multiple forms across multiple generic manufacturers. If a US doctor writes a prescription indicating "Percocet, 10-325" it is usually indicated elsewhere on the prescription that generics are OK since they're usually significantly less expensive and more widely available and covered by insurance. These can be round, elliptical, oval, capsules, even a liquid if indicated on the prescription and can be scored with a variety of different markings of letters, numbers or symbols to make them easily identifiable to their users, pharmacists, techs, law enforcement or anyone who comes across one on the ground anywhere so they know what it is. Oxycodone also comes in forms that do not contain acetaminophen and is commonly written as "Roxicodone", "Oxy IR", "OxyNorm" or a variety of other brand names. These are usually smaller and color coded as white for 5mg, red/pink for 10mg, green for 15mg, blue for 30mg and, though it is rare, a lighter form of pink for 60mg tablets. Why am I commenting this? Because I'm a Libertarian, a major harm reduction advocate and wish for people with pain (or even simply the desire to use opioids for whatever purpose they choose) to be able to access these effective medications easily and safely. I do agree that it is possible that the tablet displayed in this video is not an authentic "Percocet" tablet based on the definition of what Percocet is, which is a brand name of a very specific medication form. So yes, the pharmacists advising on the appearance of this tablet are correct in indicating that it doesn't appear to be authentic, brand name Percocet. However, without a direct way to test the powder from this tablet for oxycodone, it is impossible to know whether it contained oxycodone or if it was simply a sugar pill. Seeing a tablet advertised as being Percocet but not being scored with "PERCOCET / 10-325" may indicate that it's not technically Percocet but it may still be a generic that contains oxycodone and acetaminophen as Percocet does. The fact that this tablet tested negative for fentanyl is a good sign, as fentanyl is a dangerously strong synthetic opioid and has lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths in the United States because people can't access oxycodone from a reputable market. It would make little sense for pharmacies in Mexico to advertise a tablet as Percocet then sell a sugar pill since this would lead to a loss in faith by the community who desire the effects of oxycodone which would be detrimental to their business. Selling fentanyl laced pills knowing they're dangerous makes even less sense since they'd literally be killing their biggest market and putting themselves in harms way, whether that be legal or otherwise. To conclude my dissertation here, I would advise against people using opioids outside of the care of a doctor and without a valid prescription. However, if one chooses to do so anyway for whatever reason, I strongly advise to find a reputable pharmacy that isn't catering directly to tourists with huge signs that indicate "We Speak English" or "Gringos Welcome". Research where you're buying from if you can't find a friend you trust who can take you to a pharmacy they trust. And lastly, when it comes to buying unscored pills, just don't. Before paying money just Google the score marks along with the shape and color of the tablet before paying for them or, at a minimum, before consuming them. If you're unsure of whether it may contain fentanyl because it looks like a real oxycodone you'd get from the states, get fentanyl test strips and test them before consuming. If you are in a hurry and don't have fentanyl test strips, split the tablet into quarters or in half and only consume a small amount at first and wait a half hour or so to see if any of the usual effects are precipitated. If nothing happens, a few things may be the cause for this but you could probably take the other half also and see if it feels right. Orally consumed fentanyl will have little or no effect similar to taking oxycodone orally because the amount is measured in micrograms instead of kilograms and the stomach acid typically breaks this down so quickly there's no effect, hence why fentanyl is only available in non oral routes for medical use, such as a transdermal patch, a bucally absorbed tablet, a lozenge you can twirl in your cheek, a sublingual tablet, a nasal spray, an intramuscular injection or intravenous solution. These are all unadvisable without close supervision of a doctor since the smallest amount of a fluctuation of dosage could result in respiratory depression, overdose or death.
