I just looove evergreens! In this video I set up a plow point configuration with my tarp, using my trekking pole. I needed to be a bit stealthy as this is a busy forest. This set-up was great for stealth, as it meant I could quickly collapse the shelter whenever I needed to and avoid being seen, and then pop it back up again in a matter of seconds. I actually slept with it collapsed just in case of people walking by in the morning while I was still sleeping. This was a really gorgeous lil trip and a nice dry treat after the previous drenching on a mountain 😄
This config is super easy! See a lil how-to video here: • Setting Up A Plow Poin...
This is a DD Superlight Tarp, but you can use any tarp for this, as all you need to use for a basic set-up are the four corner attachment points - real simple.
I have my camera back now :D whoop. I’m saving up for a decent wireless mic in the hope that I can improve my audio a bit.. tis on the shopping list! Along with a spot GPS safety device thingy - thank you to those who recommended one in the comments of the last video, I'll deffo be aiming to get one before winter mountain trips.
Thanks for watching and have a great day 😊 Much love, Claire 🌿🐻

This is such a delightful channel. The places you visit are gorgeous, the video is such great quality and masterfully shot (I know how hard it is) and it’s all so creative (the drone shots are always a treat). The music is great, the editing is beyond perfect and you are always doing interesting things, so it’s even EDUCATIONAL (as well as inspirational)! Love that you are always so relaxed and having fun. Anyways, thank you for producing this absolute gem of a “show”.

Hi Pauline, aw thank you, glad you liked it :) The bivi's are awesome, I love mine and use it loads. Really nice to just use the bivi on it's own too (with a tarp handy just in case! 🌧) Just the cotton ones at the moment unfortunately, as I'm selling through the merch company 'Spring' and they don't have anything like that. Hopefully one day if I can afford to buy bulk and sell it on myself instead of using a merch company I can source fabrics designed for hiking etc, but I'm not there yet. We are missing the whole picture locked up inside and not getting out to actually take a breath of fresh air. I have overcome huge obstacles with addiction and I drew my final line with meth and fentynal this past August and decided I would set a goal and prepare for my Appalachian trail thru hike beginning this month. I've drawn lines before; but, this line stuck as my last hiccup about took my life..again. I want to encourage anyone that is going through the same struggles that they too can have a life on the other side. The hiking community has been a God send. I am truly blessed. Thank you for all your doing. I hope you know that whatever it is that your doing...is working. ✌️ God bless.. would love to hear yours or anyone else's thoughts..

My granny always said: "You're never going to meet a woman while you're out wandering in the woods!" .... I'm almost 40, now... she was right... Videos like this give me hope for when someone else might think that they could. It might work out eventually. For someone.

Had to smile when the tranquillity suddenly faded under the assault of a strident call amid nature ...'oh my God, there's a massive slug on it'. :D Can't abide the things. Always enjoy your uploads , especially for their calm and restive style.

I am really enjoying your videos. I have been been using a tarp as my primary shelter since 1982 and it is nice to see others who appreciate the aesthetics of tarp camping. My friends and I also like to swim in remote rivers and mountain streams. We are believers in negative ions. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of your beautiful Country.

Haha, I'm actually not too bad with the bigger insects now, kinda getting used to them, I know they'll likely not harm me I suppose. It's ticks that I have issues with 😫

Another great video Claire. You’re just like the other woodland creatures. When you hear a sound, you stop what you’re doing and look where it was coming from until the coast is clear.

@@WildBeare If you had enough time with them, they'd incorporate you into their lives.. I found woodland birds will start to treat you like part of the forest after about 3 weeks in one camp. Stay for a month and the Robins will have me doing chores for them.. quite literally.. And if the birds are happy, everything is, because birds set the alert level of the forest.. You might have to get a little further off the beaten track. But it would be cool to see you frequent a nice quiet campsite over time.

Hi Shannon, yep I'm kind of a lone wolf, love being alone :) It's actually harder for me to camp with someone haha (I reeeeally like my own space). I do have a friend that I camp with occasionally, but I don't film those. Glad you find it helpful, I don't have a go-to brand really, all mix & match! Thanks for watching 💚 Claire
