Great build. He should add an overhead garage door gasket to the bottom of his door and the top of the tailgate to help seal it up.

Great rig. This guy can go just about anywhere a big dollar over-landing rig would go and be just as comfortable! Fast forward 20 years. Will this guy say remember that old rig I had? I sure do miss it, and the simplicity, and not making a payment!

What a cool little truck cabin! I'm kinda surprised it doesn't seal up a little better at the tailgate, seems like it'd be easy to add some weatherstripping on the tailgate and keep more heat in 👍

Lawrence, that’s exactly right! So far it hasn’t been a problem, but that’s probably something we will seal up in the future

I have a 6.5 foot bed on a Silverado, and I am 6'2". You never know what will fit in a small space until you try. I have two stacked storage bins that double as a desk inside during bad weather.

@@Topgun-0331 I don't have any recent pictures. I can tell you I found a 31 inch wide bed frame made by Zinus (I think), found on amazon. Also a 31 inch wide folding 6 inch foam mattress. I could send some old pictures, but a lot has changed.
@metaglypto
@metaglypto 3 жыл бұрын
@@Topgun-0331 I also have plastic storage bins that fit under the bed. The frame has some cross braces that work well for a second shelf under the bed. Fridge is all the way forward, next to bed. Then two larger plastic storage bins, that when stacked, make a fine desk. I now also have 200 watts of solar up top that powers the fridge, and other batteries.

Got an idea for the tailgate, take a foam thing that's used on pipes so they won't freeze. It's spliced perfect to go over the tailgate edge for weather proofing. 🙎

Love the build! As you pulled back the camera so we could see the truck/camper in the snow, and my first thought a tiny woodstove would look awesome. A stove that you could put in when camping and take out so you could haul stuff with the TRUUuuucCKK! Well done! Also was thinking it would be funny to build up your three battary batterybank and how it never runs out of power etc.......then cut to the three AA cells for your LED lights. Would make me LOL for sure. :)

Your roof is a modified hip roof and I've never understood why this design isn't used more often. It looks great. The wood boards should be sufficient for insulation.
