Definitely relate to having anxiety over the end of quarantine. It's a global light at the end of the tunnel, but personally it feels as though my safety blanket excuse is being pulled away and I need to face a lot very suddenly.

Honestly even the people with direction have no idea what they’re doing. Lol I know growing up is scary but life has never ending possibilities. You don’t have to write a book today to be successful. You just need to be happy and healthy. Make small steps towards what you want in life. As far as your writing career make a little list that dedicates steps that don’t scare you but motivate you. You got this.

Your existential crisis section really hit home with me. I want to be a writer too, and the way you described needing to write and the fear and the reasoning of at least if you're not rejected it means you keep the dream alive...yep. I feel the exact same way! You are definitely not alone. (Plus, I know plenty of writers who struggle with writing...it's a really hard and often isolating thing, and sometimes it's even harder not to beat yourself up over it.) Take small steps and take it one day at a time. You always speak so eloquently and kindly and from the heart, so I have no doubt that any future books written by you would express the same!

Monica 🎀✨ you and i have such similar likes, personalities, and quirks. I’m a second generation korean canadian girly (my dad Korean my mommy white, I’m also a Kim!) and youre literally the Korean friend I never had irl. Its been a blast parasocially sharing similar interests and lifestyle, korean culture, crafting, cozy video games, personal style, and your appreciation for tenderness and beauty in the world around you. Ive watched so many of your videos lately and its been getting me through a really tough time. I paused to read what part you annotated as “stunning”; i really loved it and thought, “wow. So often do i feel seen and delighted by what she chooses to share. I’m so glad she chose to share herself and what she thinks and enjoys with the world.” You are so lovely. Thank you, I’m grateful for you and I’m sure I’m not the only one. You are a wonderful, beautiful, and STUNNING person inside and out. I wish we were friends, but tbh i respectfully also wish i could smooch you! MAJOR GIRL CRUSH ALERT

About deciding what to do with your life when you come to a roadblock here is how I am doing it: I set aside a time of day (for me it is 21:00 every day), where I stop what I am doing, put on some music i love and go online searching stuff, taking notes and writing down phone numbers and e mail adresses for questions i want to ask the next morning. At around 22:30 i am done with searching and go back to doing stuff that I like. Every day I am doing this even on weekends and until I get a new job or some kind of income I will keep doing this cause even if it is a slow process, I've learnt so much about so many things, that there is no other way, than to get to the bottom of it in the end. If you are consistent with your searching and do it everyday, you will get there one day. Just set a specific time for it, so you won't have to worry about it all day.

I feel you so hard on the existential crisis 💜💜 I was already pretty directionless before the pandemic but with lockdown I gladly put worrying about he future on hold for a while. It was only when my unemployment was going to run out (which didn’t end up happening but regardless) I felt the same panic of I have to figure out what I’m going to do next. I eventually decided to apply to grad school but making that decision was so anxiety inducing! It’s so hard to take your time and make decisions that are right for you when it feels like there are time constraints. It helped me to remember that I don’t have to figure everything out all at once, and that I can always change my mind if it’s not the right path for me. I hope everything works out for you 🥰🥰🥰

omg i would LOVE to talk to you about that whole anxiety thing! i was definitely going through stuff like that and im STILL going through it (although i have kinda determined that being a proofreader is my next step) but the biggest thing i can recommend is the book "What Color Is Your Parachute?" it helps give so much clarity to those worries of "what's next" and such. but if you ever read a book, just simply based on what you recommend and talk about, i would be 1000% down to read through it!!

Girl, I've just found you and my god I adore your videos. I see you read a lot of graphic novels - and so in regards to your anxiety about finding what you want to do, I'm going to roughly quote from one of my favourites, Fruits Basket. When you're surrounded by piles and piles and piles of laundry, what do you do? Do you sit at the centre and panic? No, you reach for that first bit of clothing and focus on the smaller steps. Looking ahead is so difficult and you've done amazing to break everything down that you need to do... but we don't have to be focused on what's five steps ahead... sometimes it's okay to focus on what's in front of us...
@lindakirste45403 жыл бұрын
I get that so much what you said about needing direction and not really knowing whts next. I have felt so lost for about 5 months now and now that I am finally somewhere close to an "Out", my coices are being questioned left and right. I have always done my thing despite that, but its exhausting. for once in my life I would really love to do something and just have everybody be ok with it, not only my mom and 2 best friends. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, sometimes it really helps me to hear that there are other people too, who dont have it all figured out either.

The page refreshed right before I could send my comment orz - here's to me trying to rewrite it again lol --- I've added Dowry of Blood to my TBR, too~ Spoilers in case you haven't picked them up yet / finished them: I love Howl's Moving Castle - it's one of my fav Ghibli films, and the books are amazing, too (I rec checking out the rest of the author's books if you haven't already! I own quite a few of them (and borrowed a lot more lol)). I remember being so surprised how different the two were from each other, but the books give a lot more context about the movie (and even a few surprises like her sister*s* hahaha). Thanks for the Bloom rec! I finished reading it a few days ago, and it was cute! There were some parts that I thought transitioned weirdly or that I needed more information about, but I enjoyed it all the same~ I'm currently finishing up The Unbearable Lightness of Being, of which I have mixed feelings about. I had higher expectations, but really I ended up hating everyone LMAO. I also just finished reading Counting by 7s (nice story, bit too neatly wrapped up by the end but might be because it was targeted for a younger demographic?) and All Systems Red (really good - am interested to read the other books). --- Thank you for talking about your anxieties. It comforted me to know that someone was in the same boat as I am. I've been a constant ball of stress, fear, and anxiety (since before quarantine), but have managed to put it off for the year. You really put into words what I feel right now, and it makes me feel better to know that others are going through the same things. Together, we can make it out of this 'slump' and into the next chapter~ (I love your metaphor, but I personally consider myself to be one large book with each chapter or part being the start of something new, but all contained in the same entity - me.) --- I love love love your outfits. Your aesthetic (clothes, make-up, decor) always puts a smile to my face even though it's not my particular style. I think it's because your demeanor is so infectious - thank you for that! I'm glad to have stumbled across your channel recently~

Honestly, actors, writers, singers... they all get rejected so many times before their opportunity comes through so I would keep that in mind. It is a weird moment in everyone's life so really don't stress. I think that now you can start working on new projects that you have thought about it. Or continue with projects you have left aside. If there is a story you are writing, keep going! If you have an idea, start it! The fear and anxiety are always going to be there and at least for me, I just had to go for it. Jump into the deep end, That's what worked for me. Hope you are doing okay! xx

You are crushing it! You should go for it with writing! Have you read Julia Cameron’s the Artists Way? You should check it out! Don’t worry about getting so far into your worries about the future things and just think of the next right step - which is writing each day! You already have such an amazing audience that wants to see all of what you come up with! 😊 (Yes I did bring in Anna from Frozen with “the next right step” but it is such a good mantra!)
