more cozy things I didn't even mention! - dragonriding cups - compete in races to get cool rewards - trading post - complete activities throughout the world to get a special currency to get cool pets, mounts, transmog, and more - azerothian archives - complete archeology related quests to immerse yourself in the lore and earn cool rewards

Also! A lovely commenter made an awesome point that there is lots of awesome content out there regarding mounts, pets, transmog, etc. I definitely don't want to discount those creators or their content! I think what I was trying to say is creating content from the perspective that the "cozy" parts is your primary playstyle, and combining that the "typical" cozy gaming content. I will try to clarify that in future videos. Ty!

WoW is my favorite game of all time because of the coziness and niche activities. Taking it slow, exploring and collecting. My favorite way to play! Some of these things get lost in translation with the more "serious" side of the game. Thank you for embracing your playstyle and encouraging others to enjoy this amazing world as well!

I've been a WoW player since Beta and even though I raided for a period of time in the beginning, I've always played the game this way. It's what kept me coming back for all these years. I'm so very glad to see you post this content and I hope that it helps build a community of like minded players. I think there is room for all kinds of players and letting people know that it's perfectly okay to play this way is important! Thank you!

Yes this! I have done Mythic raids, Challenge modes, Mythic + and all the Hardcore stuff in the past and as I got older and started having less and less time, I much more just enjoy collecting achievements, mounts, transmog and do world Quest. The only thing I always run seasonally are M+ and Raids Curve, but once I am done, I never do them again till next season. I honestly wish WoW just came up with housing system like FFXIV and I would be a happy solo player! Happy for the Delves at least.

Don't forget the "Trial of Style" events, which is literally a fashion show. A theme is given, then competing players have a few minutes to come up with a transmog fitting that theme. One player on stage, the others in that group vote; nobody gets to vote for themselves. Winner gets a token which can buy, of course, transmog items. One perk of these events is that for the duration, transmog is free for everyone, everywhere. At high levels, a full transmog can cost a few to several hundred gold. This is a biggie if you wanted to test out a lot of looks outside of the transmog UI. Those generally give you a good preview, but sometimes how things look with in-game lighting aren't really how they looked in the transmog UI window.

I so get this! For me it is all about the stories, the exploration, and little interesting finds. I love collecting mounts, pets, hunter pets, various clothing, and so on. I do enjoy dungeons with friends or with friendly folks...same with questing. I love meeting casual, easy-going players to group with... good fun, low salt. Role playing is fun,, and I like pet battles too.

I myself don't really play in a cozy way specifically, and even find some of the newer non-combat world activities to be really not interesting HOWEVER I love that they exist for people who do want it. Its really nice that there are so many different things you can do and make it a completely difference game depending on your interests.

I totally agree! I have been mostly solo playing the game since it came out in 2004 too! And I also spend so much time running around and exploring, doing a quest here and there trying multiple characters out then I may spend time collecting, then maybe practicing pet battles, etc…I was glad when the NPCs became available to solo the dungeons with so now there are new areas I can explore I avoided before because I am usually solo. So yeah….I totally get being cozy with it. It is my stress management go to 😂. And I was so excited when I finally got a handle on Dragonriding!

This is great. I am a former WoW player and what made me stop was the ridiculousness of people and how they treated this game like it was life. I was a casual player for the most part that wanted to do some higher level stuff but the other players made that frustratingly horrible for me experience wise and I didn't want to pay monthly to not have fun anymore. You have given me a reason to think about it again because I did like the game when it came to story and lore. Thanks.

This is very nice, and I say this as someone who failed 9th grade to compete against rank one teams in the arena ladder. Slowly this game turned into a very anxiety filled experience to me. Everything is about being the best, the one at the top, the optimal, datamining content and challenges before they're even there, downloading 50 different addons just to increase performance , and I guess that's just not how I see the gaming experience anymore, and I honestly think more people would see it that way too if they weren't so pressured by the community into playing "min max" style. It is interesting though how social engineering can pretty much guide how the game works even though it's supposed to have it's own natural flow since content in modern expansions is very direct. I guess the coming of age brought my ego down and now I care more about actually having fun and not proving myself to people in a virtual world anymore. As the years passed I see the things I really valued the most about this game were always friendship, connections, random moments spent exploring the world mid voice call with a friend during raid lockouts... just those simple things. Very nice content, thanks for covering this!

I've been playing this game since 2005. While I didn't use to see this game as a 'cozy' game, now that my wife and I have our first child, I actually really enjoy the laid back aspects of the game to unwind. It sure has the cosy atmosphere down. From what I heard, the next expansion brings Delves, a solo activity (if you want) where you can explore caves with various rewards. The recent Follower Dungeons were also a great idea to take my time experiencing the lore of the latest expansion. Thanks for this video!

Really great video. I think it's so important to preach this message and playstyle, as I feel the community (for the most part) has cultivated this philosophy and ideal that you MUST minmax, you MUST optimise, you MUST play the correct way, the correct class, the correct spec, the correct race, otherwise you're not having fun. It's a ridiculous thought process. I feel there is an insane lack of empathy and respect with the way players choose to engage with the game, and there is no right or wrong way of playing it. Do what you enjoy! I've personally always tried to have the best of both worlds. I love collecting; transmog, mounts, whatever it may be. But I also love challenging myself and pushing myself. I'll gladly do +20 mythic+ keys and then immediately want to jump into some achievement hunting or mount collecting after that. It may not be for everybody, but it's frustrating and just....sad when people ridicule how one 'should' play the game. It makes me feel that some players have simply forgotten how to have fun! I really enjoyed this video and I hope you continue to fight the good fight! I think you have done a brilliant job with this!

I'm not entirely sure why I watched this video all the way through considering it's a guide and I've been playing WoW since 2008... but! It was a great video and I 100% play the game like this and my highest level of content are heroic dungeons and LFR raids. The only thing I'll mention is that you can actually make characters on "Full" servers, they just warn that there could be potential for a wait-time when logging in- but to be honest I've never had to wait to log into my "full" server, so it's probably still safe to join.

I used to big on raids and Mythic+, but I tend to play pretty cozy these days. The addition of Follower Dungeons has been a great boon to me not because I can't find people to do dungeons (my guild is very helpful with that), but because I can take the dungeon very slowly and fully absorb the gorgeous scenery without slowing down people who are trying to knock them out as fast as possible. My BF wouldn't do a dungeon until they added that feature and he could learn the dungeons on his own before throwing himself into a groups setting, and now he's actually running mythic+ keys, even if you're not the type to move on from them the follower dungeons are a great way to see the superb dungeon content at a cozy pace. They give you 4 AI comrades to help, and as long as you're not healer (heals damage off allies) or tank (hold the enemy's attention and takes the damage) and try not to stand in fire you'll be fine, Captain Garrick, the NPC tank will keep you fairly safe. If you are comfortable tanking or healing it's still very chill, but you are some what more responsible.

This is a video that I would have loved to watch when I started playing WoW in 2009. 😅Very nicely put together and informative! ✨Dressing up my blood elf priest in pretty clothes got me into playing, then it became more serious over time. Although I am now a semi-hardcore Mythic raider, I do enjoy the cozy activities in this game still, especially collecting appearences and crafting professions. Btw, have you looked into Trial of Style? That is a really nice short event, starting on March 20.

This is so cool. My husband and I played world of warcraft for years a few years ago, back in vanilla wow, when it first came out. we were in raiding guilds and were always with other players, so it didn't always feel cosy, but you really need to do your own thing for that, it's what you want it to be. Unfortunately, like a lot of things, when you involve other people, multiplayer, it can cause problems lol, sadly. But aye, we loved it, I played it solo a lot, justy to level and learn about my character, this was before you had flying mounts, and other mounts were only at lvl 40, so you had to work hard to gain things, which I always think is best. The game aint going anywhere, you have all the time in the world, it doesn't matter how long it takes you. Thanks for sharing. 🤗🤗

Do note that you can level by only doing herbing, mining, and pet battles, without ever (in theory) having to fight or kill anything. Of course, there is sometimes something hostile near what you want to gather, and if it is something uncommon or rare, you may decide that dealing with whatever is in the way is worth the bother.

Excellent video, very well done👌 I started playing back in TBC, and my favorite thing to do in the game has always been raiding. I worked my way up to mythic progression raiding in Legion, and managed to get cutting edge three tiers in a row from BFA into Shadowlands. However, I soon realized that even mythic gear is replaced after only a few months, so the trade-off was not worth it. Plus you need the same 20 people every raid and perfect coordination everytime. Now I just raid heroic and go back and do mythic bosses later in an expansion. Its not like the old days when you got your full set and you knew you had the best gear in the game for a whole expansion. However, with transmog, mounts, and pets, you have them forever. So what I would say to any new player is this: play the game whatever way makes YOU happy. Don't feel like you have to min max everything you do in the game. Trust me, there's WAY more "cozy" players in the game then there are mythic raiders, I've been there and done it and enjoyed it, and now I play cozy too. Hope this helps 🙂

Wow I have found my people!! I used to raid and do way more group content back in the day but it stopped appealing to me as I got older and had less time for gaming. Now, I just play it like a cosy game! I make new characters for completing different parts of Loremaster, and hunt for mounts, transmog and pets as I go! There's LOADS to do when you look at the game as more than just end-game raiding

RP servers are great: You often see toons/characters sitting around talking to each other. Characters that always have the same mount, or type of clothes. No specialisation... I'm a holy priest and will never switch to Balance or Shadow. No real world talk in the chat, and everyone stops to chat with you in the world if you wish to do it. And it's fun to chat with randoms as they always talk as if they live in Azeroth not our world. Certainly more friendly, and always anomosty to the opposite factions, Horde vs Alliance will always remain.

I've been playing since about Burning Crusade. I love the world, the story and just taking my time. I couldn't care less about raids and only go through dungeons when required or after I'm powerful enough to go by myself. The new follower dungeons are fantastic. I can now go through the higher dungeons and see/hear the story without being forced to run through at top speed. Although I prefer the Alliance, I do play Horde as well to get both sides of the story. My Horde happen to be on a high population server and my Alliance are on a low population server. Both have good and bad aspects. If I'm buying pets/mounts/transmogs they tend to be cheaper on the High Population realms probably because there are more people trying to sell items. It's easier to "Farm" these things on the lower population realms because there are less people trying/going after them. Although I already know lots about the game, I think your video would be great in encouraging new players which can only help keeping a game I love running strong. With this in mind, I chose to listen to your video (while playing WOW) like, and subscribed to your channel. I figured this would help with the algorithms and get this out to more people. I look forward to listening to your next video.

I like that you break down all the categories of what you can do besides raiding and mythic and how to set up for being a collector. But I would argue it's not hard at all to find online content about these "cozy" types of gameplay. I hope to see you making further content about specific items to go after. For those who like mounts, Siyler makes good videos for farming things you missed in each expansion. I usually check out his videos to see if there are any hidden requirements for mounts I'm after. I want to make a video of "mounts I have to just accept that I will never have....." starting with everyone's favorite, The Horseman's Reins....

Thanks for all the recommendations! I should have been more clear for sure about the type of content I meant cause there are definitely lots of amazing creators making videos about mounts, pets, and all these things. Photoshoots: I always take two. One with the UI off, one with it on, so I can add the location (continent, zone, coords) and time of day into the metadata (I use G.I.M.P., the free sorta-Photoshop). Might want to take a pic of a diff char there later on, after all. I wish there was a flying camera, that would NOT put the player in a 'fiddling with a controller' stance. I want more freedom when framing a pic of my toons against that fckn awesome backdrop I just came across. Cam is always set with head centered, so often have to zoom far out, instead of just moving cam to one side a bit, to include the desired part of the background. The distance fog Bliz added this expansion sucks. The crystal-clear mountains in distance are now fuzzy. Pics taken from mountain tops now show a ground covered with fog, or smog. The reason: otherwise, the world cuts off abruptly wherever you set the maximum view distance in your UI. Fine. I just wish there was a toggle somewhere, even if as a console command, something along the lines of " /console distance_fog 0 ".

Update on cross-realm: I have toons on both US (Ravencrest) and Oceanic (Aman'thul) realms. I can't send things that aren't account-bound from one to the other. However, much to my surprise, if I'm in a party with a friend on the other side of the pond, I now CAN trade things. They can then trade / mail those, (including gold!) to my toon over there. US toon tries to mail item to own toon on Oceanic realm: "You cannot send mail to that realm" fck! So instead: US toon in party with Oceanic friend trade item to Oceanic friend Log into my Oceanic toon Oceanic friend trades item to my Oceanic toon ---- or ---- Oceanic friend mails item to my Oceanic toon That routine may work with trading to players on diff realms in same country-area.

Annnnnd.... yet ANOTHER reason why WoW needs to add player housing... I play WoW both ways honestly. Sometimes I wanna do questing and all that... then Ill be flying around with my dracthyr and see a cozy little spot and just want to fish. And I can never have too many pets. And trying to make my character look the cutest. I probably would play more that way if I had a place to display some of this stuff. have my pets running around a yard. farming (coming to open world in next expansion) building a house, decorating it. And I have all my play slots filled with alts and everyone has an rp backstory in my head Like my first main is a human pladin, who is the brother of my worgen dk 2nd main, they were separated as kids when their single dad died in the 2nd war (warcraft 2 rts) and they lost their family's store. Their surname is Trueblade, and if you go in old town Stormwind there is a weapon shop called Honest Blades.... that was their shop and the new owner renamed it. to this day when I am going through old town on one of them I go by honest blades and tear up.

Is there a particular race/class you would recommend for cozy gaming?

1. Love the video! 2. Have you tried FF14 at all? Its my go to cozy game and I've never felt pressure to rush ANYTHING and if you haven't definitely try it if a WoW drought ever hits!

I am so sad you have a nasty nose ring... cause otherwise you are a pretty girl. Seriously,... removing that nose armor would improve your looks by a factor of 10. Now to your awesome content... I agree with you and have been playing WOW this way for about 20 years. In the beginning we all take it fairly seriously but from the start (watching my son play) I asked the one question "Can I just do whatever I want?" "Walk around and maybe sit for awhile?" He said "sure"... so I began my journey and like you (me and my wife) simply play around, gather, wander far a field... explore. We enjoy Classic more than current... but play both. Again, awesome video,... lose the nose ring... make more videos like this!

Reminds me of how RDR2 (and specifically RDO) has become a horse girl game. 😅 Fantasy RPGs are my bread and butter outside DDV, though, so I'd be too sucked in by the combat.

It’s a good match if you also like combat since there is lots of it! ✨

@@laelindria I’ll have to keep that in mind. Maybe someday I’ll have a laptop that can handle games.

My wife won't play WoW anymore because FF14 caters to this style of gameplay far better.

MMOs are 10000% cozy games. FFXIV and WoW are two of my favorite games to turn off my brain to and knock out random side quests when I'm feeling stressed out and just wanna cozy up. Like sometimes all I wanna do when I get home from a long day is turn on some music and pick some flowers on my gnome in classic and make some lil potions. 🥲I still play dungeons and raids but there is something that is more relaxing about exploring these games than any farm sim is. I play both retail and classic but I do feel like classic is cozier (for me!!!) just because I feel like the retail UI (and just... everything) can be really overwhelming when you first start out. But classic definitely has some jankiness to it.
