ive been so disconnected with myself for years and i have the same overall goal of new priorities. im very new to the cozy, soft, self care and love life, its been a hard but necessary transition for me. my biggest struggle is prioritizing self care and pouring into myself. even the most basic stuff i find challenging! its becoming a thing where im always telling myself do what i need so in the future i can do what i want, but this year i at least want a bit of me time everyday.... talc isnt bad. it got a bad rep because of johnson and johnson knowingly selling talcum powder with asbestos in it and giving people cancer, but it wasnt the talc itself. there is no need to avoid talc, its fearmongering, greenwashing and price gouging.

The advice to reflect on what made you happiest in the year just gone, and increase it (and vice versa, decrease or eliminate the negative stuff) is an exercise I picked up from Tim Ferriss yearsss ago, and it's absolutely so helpful. You can just go through your calendar to remind yourself, and your journal if you kept one, make a list of each (pos/neg) then identify the top 20% contributors from each - those are what you're working with, to increase/decrease in your coming year. A truly excellent reflection tool and great way to hone in on what really matters to you, personally.

I loveee this cozy reset and the idea that it doesn't have to be extreme, which works for some but not most. annotating can be really eye opening with reading and help you read deeper! I had to do it in school growing up, some of the best tools are the simplest. a bunch of different sized white sticky notes and colored pens/highlighters will do the job well if you're ever considering new tools!!

Sooo true about the late 20's! That's when all your friends begin to get married and have families and I feel like that was my time to really solidify my relationships. Some people don't adapt back into their social life after becoming parents, and that's totally fine! But everything changes in late 20's to early 30's so cling onto those relationships that truly hold value. 🫶

I love a good reset and regroup. I do it throughout the year as a needed, because I tend to over extend myself a lot and have literally ended up sick and dehydrated from exhaustion related to over doing it. I'm older than you, but I love seeing younger ladies take control of their health and wellness and focusing on self care. You're correct about Talc. Stay away from it. When my now 16 year daughter was a baby, I used baby powder that was corn starch based rather than the talcum powder based baby powder. I've long since switched to talc free makeup, as well. Honest Beauty has a great eyeshadow palette that I use in place of my old favorite Too Faced palette. It's comparable quality but a safer option at a more affordable price. Highly recommend. You and I have similar complexion, so I'm sure you'll find colors that'll look great on you.
