CP33 Mag Loader Review

The MCarbo loader is so simple it works!
After trying one complicated 3-d printed loader after another and having disappointing results I think I’ve found the solution for these high capacity rimfire mags!

A Tip: Just use CCI Mini Mag 40 Grain Copper Plate Ammo and you will have No Issues using this Ammo! I also Purchased another magazine and I Installed the 17 round extension along with the "Ludex" Speed Loader, which is a must for loading these magazines! Another Tip is to keep the magazines frequently clean because there is No Feed Ramp in this Gun! The Magazines have a Feed Ramp Designed at the top of each one and you must keep them clean from dirt buildup or there will be problems! I now have shot almost 1000 trouble free rounds through my gun with No Malfunctions! I now have two P17's and the CP33 and I plan in the near Future to purchase a PMR30! Thank You!

Those truly are a great design that works well but a good friend bought one and it broke after the third mag he used it on. I don’t have a lot of faith in 3-d printed loaders. Have had three bad experiences with them.

@@MaxHeadspace9mm I shoot my CP33 every weekend, so I've loaded tens of thousands of rounds using Nest speedloader. No problem, so far. Did you have bad experiense with American Speedloaders in particular or just with some 3-D printed speedloaders in general?

John Saxtorph I’m sure that most people have great success with them. And my friends’ loader worked amazingly well at first. I guess it’s the luck of the draw. He was offered a replacement when he contacted the company so they did the honorable thing.

Very cool. I'd love to see a comparison between this and the American Speedloaders one that KelTec sells on their site. Sorry to hear that your friend had a bad experience with one!

Thenderbolt always smelled like bubbles when you shoot it. You know the bubbles that you'd play with as a kid? If you can, get a bottle of bubbles and take it with you next time you shoot thunderbolts, and compare.

It’s pretty amazing that with all the complaints about loading the PMR30 and CP33 mags correctly that it all comes down to a loader this simple! It’s very much like the cheapo loaders that come free with most pistols except that the little angled piece inside has angles on each side instead of being flat. It’s now extremely easy to load these mags. If Keltec included one loader in the box it would really go a long way in furthering the success of these pistols.

Just watching that process, I can see how it would be very difficult just by hand. Interesting it is such a simple device. I'm sure that would be very easy to 3D print.

I didn't think the Thunderbolt .22lr ammo would work in my CP33 either, but they have worked flawlessly for me, so I would definitely give them a try.

How has your PMR 30 been holding up - still happy with it?

Very. My problem is I’m always looking for the next gun to be fascinated with. And so I’ve moved on. I get it out and run it from time to time. Clean and inspect it but it doesn’t get hard use anymore. It’s proved itself to me. It’s a very viable design and I am confident that it’s earned a place amongst the great pistol designs. Though there will always be those who disagree.
