First thing READ THE MANUAL! One of the best I’ve ever seen. Keltec says very clearly DO NOT SLINGSHOT THE BOLT FORWARD IF THE CHAMBER IS EMPTY!!! I bought mine about 1 month ago. Absolutely watch Gunbroker. Picked mine up for under $350! Just lucky. GREAT GUN! Cleaned it before I went to the range. The gun needed oil. I picked up the American Speed Loader that Keltec recommends. Loads perfectly every time! Next I found an incredible Red/Green Reflex Optic with Tactile Adjustments on Amazon of all places. Less than $35! Bigger than the Holosun I have. Works great. Added the brace adapter that uses the metal ears to help secure it. Put the FS1913 on and a compensator. I think I have more fun shooting this one that my P322.

Yeah. And if a person is patient and sorts it out it can be very reliable. And as an added bonus you learn a lot of gunsmithing techniques.

Innovative Florida company. The CP33 does have a break-in period to improve reliability.
@MaxHeadspace9mm

That’s good to know. But I can’t figure out if the break in period is for the gun or for me! There’s a lot to learn about this pistol🤔

It can be finicky with certain brands of ammunition, like Remington Golden Bullet. It works best with Federal. Also mixing different ammo in the magazine can cause malfunctions. I think it functions much better suppressed, probably due to back pressure cycling the action more strongly

@@MaxHeadspace9mm The CP33 is a neat pistol, make sure you clean your magazine also, they get gritty and can cause feeding problems when they are new. I clean my magazine then spray silicone spray in them, works like a charm.

MAKER OF MANY THINGS Thank you very much for the advice! That’s exactly what KZbin is great for. And I really appreciate the knowledge. Every gun has little quirks and it takes time to get to know a gun. Thanks for helping shorten that learning curve.

@@MaxHeadspace9mm You also will have failures to feed on the 1st couple rounds when that happens just push the magazine release button to allow the bullet to cycle, This won't happen once the gun is broken in. Other than that it's all good.

Ok so when I first got my CP33 it had first round loading issues so I sent it back to Keltec and they polished the chamber barrel and it runs like a champ now. 2nd issue is the CP33 rail is wider than your regular picattany rail so I could not put my vortex micro 3x magnifier on there behind my Vortex sparc solar. Those were my only issues. If 33 rounds not enough for you Keltec makes the +17 mag extension giving you 50 rounds hope this info helps. Oh yeah also you need to get the CP33 mag loader it's a game changer.

That is indeed a sweet little gun. Very innovative. I'll be anxious to see your range report. I was thinking I should get one and then you mentioned the fact that it had ambidextrous sights!!!!! @@MaxHeadspace9mm hi Max. I have sent it to KelTec twice. A scary situation was the reason. The first time it was sent back with a work order showing work completed. Including replacement of broken. Firing pin. Well my broken firing pin was still in gun. So I send it back after explaining it was never looked over by a smith. Second time around it was repaired but still doesn't function worth a poop. It's a first and second gen frankenstein. I was told it was a second gen. Nope. Second gen firing pin has smooth edges. First gen is rough and breaks. So it slam fired 27 rds. All the while out of battery and put brass all in my face. I sent the exploded case with it first time.
@-jimmyjames
@-jimmyjames 2 жыл бұрын
Also the hammer to firing pin geometry is off and places undo strain on the long and flat firing pin which led to it's breakage along with the rough edges. It pisses me off to no end that I see people having fun with theirs when mine is a 500 dollar paper weight. It was the first firearm I purchased after a lengthy and costly separation.

Actually, I think it was 1972. I was there when Governor Reagan closed all of the State Mental Hospitals and turned all of the patients out to "save money." They were supposed to go to their hometowns and get their treatment there? No State money was provided for local assistance, and these mental patients learned to self-medicate and live on the streets. The public just got used to seeing them everywhere!...........................elsullo

Keltec is adamant about people not using the kind of ammo where the bullet wobbles or twists in the case. I would guess it might have something to do with that. Also 22 lr rounds have varying lengths and that may be a factor. I don’t know. Hadn’t heard that. I will certainly mention it if it happens to me.
