Hi, I work in mobile dentistry. Some of the patients I see are trach patients. However, as a dental hygienist I was not taught anything about ventilators. Sometimes the alarms go off. It would be helpful to understand these machines better. Is there a video you have made that can explain the bells and alarms. Having said that the respiratory therapist are on hand but are very busy and don’t have time to answer a bunch of questions. Thank you for your help.

Hello. Yes, I use assist control. If I would purchase my ventilator, it would be around $12,000 US Dollars. I rent my machine. My insurance is billed about $1,000 US Dollars every month.

Central apnea patients with a trach can use CPAP, BiPAP or mechanical ventilator. A medical professional would need to evaluate the patient to give an opinion about which machine is best for the patient.
