Hi Nick. As a mouth breather who’s had multiple surgeries for improving my sleep apnea, what mask would you advise to use for myself. I’ve pretty much tried them all, the one in most comfortable with is the nasal pillows but it always woke me up in the middle of the night

Not sure this is the correct place for this comment, but I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the useful and support you provide to the community. My AirSense 10 CPAP just failed with a tired worn out motor. I was in a near panic due to my reliance on this machine because of my heart. I watched the video you did a while back on how to replace the motor. Found a replacement motor on the online shopping app ( the big one), and simply followed the video as I did the repair at the same time. Very easy to do with that video. You gave perfect instructions, slow easy to follow concise!!! With $129. Dollars my AirSense 10 is like brand new. Thank you thank you!!! Nick from Dayton Ohio USA

Now if only they'd do a full face version of this. I believe you're a fan of using nasal where possible, but I've always found full face works better for me and I've been using the AirFit F20 for years. If they did a full face, I'd consider trialing it.

Hey mate, it's really great to see someone enjoying the vid and having a few laughs. I always cop a lot of criticism for this stuff so appreciate the support. I think sometimes people forget i'm 40 years old and not 60+ like the rest of the audience so there's a generational gap when it comes to the content and the truth is i make videos that i personally would like to watch not what my Dad would like. I certainly don't expect 20 year olds to be making content for my old ass either. Cheers mate. Nicko

I noticed that the side strap ended up across the model’s eye when she turned on her side. F&P masks used to be great with the diffusers, but the latest one I’ve got doesn’t. Hate the noise as the exhaled air hits the bedding, bounces up into my eyes, drying them out!

Looks like a great new innovative mask. Thanks for the preview/review Nicko! Would LOVE to see this mask's headgear tested by someone with longish hair. My experience with split straps like this is they don't stay put unless you slide the bottom one UNDER your hair, and the top on to the top of the head - like I have to.
@CPAPReviews Жыл бұрын
Most welcome! Yeah that's a really good point mate. Unfortunately, i don't have my long hair anymore but i'll see if i can borrow the old lady for some testing. Like everything in CPAP imagine there's a little hack you can do like wearing a hair cap to protect your hair or a couple of bobby pins or hair clip etc to keep it in place Thanks for the support and insights. Appreciate it. Cheers

I put the top half of my hair into a high pony tail at the back of my head and slip the strap just below it to hold it in place.

Yes I put the bottom strap under my hair, or the other thing that works for me is to wear a stretchy headband and the straps "stick" to that, and don't slip up. Also keeps ears warm in winter :D.

Those pillows look very similar in design to the ones on the Brevida. Im not sure why, but the Brevida pillows always invert in on themselves. Sometimes the left. Sometimes the right. I’ve seen a few others complain about the same thing. Otherwise, I’d love the mask. That makes me wary of this one.
@CPAPReviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great info & feedback. I haven't had that issue yet but i'll compare with the Brevida and see if they have made any changes to the material, design and compare how hard it is to invert the pillow. Cheers

Hi everyone, When I first got my SOLO (nasal pillow) I wrote here how much I liked it. Now for an update. I absolutely love, love, love it. I bought from “CPap Direct” ($229) in the pre-release the first week they got them in. Only three or four times I’ve had “high” AHI…my own fault…it was at the beginning and I had it too loose. Still trying to figure it out… Every day now, the readings are “normal” for the first time in years What a difference it’s made… With my previous one, (P10) I had so many on “high”, it was unbelievable Still tired and falling asleep every day….sometimes I felt drowsy when I sat down after being up only an hour or so. I thought I might have other issues as I’d thought the cPap was supposed to stop that. Not any more… I’d recommend SOLO to everyone… Connie

F&P make great masks! I'll be replacing my Respironics pillows with these. My one irritant is that the straps are close to your eyes, but perhaps with pillows there is no other way to place them.
@russellparkinson5396 Жыл бұрын
I had this on trial before it was released. It’s very light and convenient but I found I didn’t sleep well with it. The main issue was that it irritated my nostril area and I struggled to keep it place. While it’s easily adjusted I found when side sleeping it would pull and loosen or tighten. It’s possible I may have adjusted to it in time but I have it a good week. It may of course suit you.
@CPAPReviews Жыл бұрын
Really appreciate you sharing your insights and feedback mate. I take it you were using the pillow version? Personally i haven't had any issues with the headgear changing during the night. Seems to lock in place very well. The pillows are a little firm under the nose so if it's your first mask you've ever tried it does take some getting use to. I have a few little hacks i use to reduce that pain point and i'll do a video on them shortly. Cheers

I just got this mask and although it is very comfortable initially it gradually tightens over the night as you move about until you wake up in the morning feeling like you’ve been punched in the nose. Exactly like a seatbelt you have to have pressure pushing against the retention, as soon as you release tension it tightens up, exactly like a boa constrictor. I love it, until I woke up with a crushed nose. So disappointing.

Thanks a ton for the update, but....and forgive my pun here, but I'm not holding my breath, as these CPAP extras cost a ton and are built rather flimsy in the first place. I was going to comment on the air exhaust, but you beat me to it. With my current mask, the exhaust was deflected in such a way as to get it back in my face during sleep...so much so that I had to resort to using a rigged up system using rubber bands and spray bottle stops to deflect the rushing air away from my face. I wonder how many CPAP users work at this place and how many are consulted before issuing these high priced pieces of flimsy garbage.....

How does it do at high pressure? My IPAP is below 17 or so for 95% of the time, but sometime during most nights I go all the way up to 25. I've been using the Nasal Aire II "prong cushion" mask for about 18 years because it's the only one that I've ever found that doesn't leak badly at any pressure over 15. I'm a side sleeper and use a chinstrap. I would love to find a more comfortable mask if it can meet those requirements. Could this be it???
@JoyfulKnitter Жыл бұрын
Appreciate your comment. I'm also strictly a side (right side) sleeper with a pressure of 14-17. I definitely need my mask to firmly stay in place!! I can't use the Evora hybrid mask because, sleeping on my side presses the plastic piece into my cheek. I see the same type of plastic support piece on this Solo mask.

aka Resmed Airfit P10
@CPAPReviews Жыл бұрын
nah mate, it's a p10 on steroids. That headgear just locks and holds at whatever tension you like without adjusting any buckles or velcro. If it's too tight on the nose pull out 1mm and it just locks and hold, little loose and just a slight push in and once again, locks and holds and the ability like i showed in the vid to just make one side a bit tighter etc is next level. I'll take apart the strap and show everyone this in more detail but it leaves the P10 for dead in the fitting aspect. P10 is quieter though. Cheers

$230-$350!!?
@CPAPReviews Жыл бұрын
Where you getting that $350 price from? The pre-release price is $229 i believe which is AUD ( $146USD). Current price of the Evora in the US is $150USD . A lot cheaper for SleepHQ pro members

@@CPAPReviews the link. I'm using the "retail" price that's marked out for ore-order. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

There's no Mask that is good overall. They all have some super irritating flaw. I have tested many and I'm sick of it. It feels like no one can come up with a mask that does the job properly without something that constantly wakes me up.
@CPAPReviews9 ай бұрын
I know why that is! It's because of the damn patents. ResMed has thousands of them and they patent every tiny little thing. It's a plague on the industry.
@TheEricExperiment9 ай бұрын
@@CPAPReviews That's is horrible, I'm trying to fix my sleep but I can't find a machine that is actually silent, a mask that doesn't have some annoying issue and a setting that actually works properly for me. Not to mention the prices of CPAP related stuff, it's absurd. 2 years using CPAP and I'm still exhausted.
