@@MsWiccanpriestess the mom in the movie was a recast the first mom was given to Lynne Lipton The part of Baby's mother was given initially to Lynne Lipton, who is briefly visible in the beginning, when the Houseman family first pulls into Kellerman's (she is in the front seat for a few seconds; her blonde hair is the only indication), but she became ill during the first week of shooting and was replaced by Kelly Bishop, who had already been cast to play Vivian Pressman, the highly sexed resort guest. I'm not into dancing movies at all, but I enjoyed Dirty Dancing and Footloose. They were actually quality flicks with nice cast, atmosphere and memorable music. Jennifer Gray was really cute and played a lovable, humble and goodhearted girl. The nose job was totally unnecessary. I really liked her distinctive beauty. She was one on a million. Also Patrick Swayze was a cool, charismatic dude in this movie. He kinda look like a bad boy, but was actually a decent and responsible man. I miss movies like this that had characters that could serve as role models.

Some time ago I played Dirty Dancing to my 11 years old daughter. We watched it together, it was great even though she pretended she didn't like it because - You know, it's a boomer stuff. This evening I caught her watching it in her room lol. I was so glad that this kind of 60's stuff appealed to her, that it evoked her interest and made her reach for it on her own. I admit it was quite surprising, in a nice way. My mum loved it, I love it and now it seems that my daughter also likes it. It's such a great, timeless and unforgettable classic.

+Jenna Denjern They did not even come close. This dance by Patrick and Baby cannot be re-created, it is a all time classic. The music was wrong and Derek and Bindi could not duplicate this very intricate dance by Patrick and Baby. Derek is too slight and Bindy is too chunky for this dance.
@survivrs9 жыл бұрын
Ronnie Mead I disagree. With respect to Patrick and Jennifer, Derek and Bindi did a damn fine job. They had a week to learn it, or rather a week for Derek to choreograph it for Bindi. HE WAS SCARED TO DO THE LIFT yet they rocked that moment. He'd never done it before. Patrick Swayze had plenty of dance lessons long before Dirty Dancing. His mother saw to that. So while Jen was scared, so was Bindi, yet she did it perfectly. The music wasn't wrong, it was condensed for the time restraints on the dance.
