I like how the Pilot was very certain and specific in communicating his intent and movements. He sounded a bit angry, but that was only because he was being focused. This is exactly what you need when doing an excursion like this. Well done to all of you.

Great job guys 👏 The Hranice abyss was already explored 2 years ago by a drone and has reached 450m, making the abyss the deepest in Europe. I also think that you will need to upgrade the design because you're almost going to 3x the depth (or more). Also is your optic fibre (video) cable armored or reinforced in some way? Because friction around materials could damage the cable.

Also, having it inline with the body of the sub, not on top of, to reduce size for going through small holes.

Would be very anticlimactic. Uranium usually emitts easy to block alpha particles PLUS water is heavy and thus very good at blocking radiation. So unless they scoop up some uranium rich dust and bring it to the surface to measure it you wouldn't measure much at all down there. xkcd made a good video called "What if you swam in a nuclear storage pool?" It's worth a watch.

The new cave exploration will be pretty thrilling since it never been explored that deep before... you'll get in uncharted areas. You might have to drop the 360 camera... that tube might get in the way when exploring the cave, natural caves aren't use to have smooth and regular surfaces. A rear camera might be more useful tho.

Maybe add something like a sonar to the drone for mapping it's position in 3d space. You could even go one step further and reconstruct a model of your environment in real time with a model of the drone in it so you could almost view your drone in something like a third person view. It would also allow you to visually detect points of your environment that could be difficult or dangerous to traverse. Maybe also add a force sensor on the drone that measures the amount of force put on its fibre cable. I could alarm the user if the fibre is stuck for example. This would just be a safety measure for the fibre. Overall congratulations on the current achievement 🎉.

Its way out of scope for project of this size, but i wonder if you could avoid needing a tether by placing neutraly buoyant speaker, microphone relay setups, I'm sure you could transmit movement through audio but I'm not sure about video, probably to much bandwidth. Only way i can think that wireless communication underground underwater could work though.

There obviously wouldn't be any difference in radioactivity of the drone. The cave is flooded and water us really good at stopping neutron radiation wich could make the drone itself radioactive. Rhe only way it could be slightly radioactive is if there was a lot of radioactive dust particles floating in the water but uranium is very dense so it would just sink to the bottom. You should've taken the dosimeter alongside the 360 camera, that would've been interesting.

It like you underwater drone will be tethered with power and control input going over the tether most likely using a flat 6e lan cable using POE It should not be to hard for a drone to lift a 50 foot flat ethernet cable esp running on 12 volt dc in fact it should be over kill.
