Excellent video! I've been reading and watching a lot of GPU and eGPU tests lately and they all more or less say the same thing. This video really addresses some of the unmentioned limitations. I'd be curious as to how much of a speed boost one could get by adding an exterior fan to the bottom of the laptop.

Hey Ben! Thanks for the informative video. I am still confused though. I have a desktop PC with GTX 1060 6 GB graphics card and. Intel i5 7400 (7th gen, 4 cores, 6 mb cache) processor and 500 watts supply power. I am an industrial product designer, from time to time I do 3D modelling and rendering, but most of the time photo editing, video editing and audio post-production I make for my projects. Ever sinCe I bought my pc, I've dreamed of upgrading the parts of it to the fullest potential the current motherboard allows. Right now I think of investing to i7 7700K CPU, and also a CPU cooler. I checked the bottlebeck issue and it seems 'the graphics card is too weak for the 7700K.' Right now my build works pretty balanced, during processor intensive tasks my processor and gpu works together with only %8 performance difference from maximum. Do you think it is a worth investment to do or maybe I better expand my RAM capacity and get a m2.nvMe SSD, in the future when I have the money upgrade my system entirely... (I have micro ATX case) Which plan makes more sense? Thanks for your time.

Make sure to download a studio driver for your computer/laptop. I bought an extremely powerful gaming laptop Acer Predator Helios 500 AMD ryzen 7 and RX Vega 56 but was wondering why the GPU wasn't picking up the weight. So once I downloaded studio driver instead of the gaming driver, it drastically helped configure my performance

So, the CPU is like a Thinker, and GPU is like an Artist. Thinker can arrange task to the best person like Artist to finish an art. Thinker can do the art themselves, but only by trying so hard with a lot of time to finish the same task. But GPU can do it in faster time. GPU/Artist can't do or start the task without the order from CPU. that means GPU will always need CPU, but CPU will need GPU for more efficient working process.
@cobbsta884 жыл бұрын

In your personal opinion, do you think that the Ryzen 3900x CPU will pair well with the GEFORCE RTX 3070 for solid playback speeds? Also, do you think I would be better off with liquid cooling (kraken x63) vs. air cooling (Noctua NH-D15) to get the most performance out of my CPU with overclocking? I'm about to build my first PC and wish to have the best experience while editing footage in premier pro, so the last thing I want to do is drop $2000 on a new build and experience the same aches and pains I have right now with my 2014 Macbook Pro. It is beyond aggravating to see choppy playback when editing footage, so I would preferably like to eliminate this at all costs.
