The reason why it is revving so high is because lack of fuel. That’s what two strokes do.

You may have already fixed it but If a 2 stroke idles high like that its usually an air leak, rubber carb boot and crank seals are 1st thing to check. Or its getting air through that pulse pump vent system. Running it with an air leak (lean fuel mixture) is how many 2 strokes end up with a hole in the piston. The premier is cool but 24 hours makes the crybabies come out. 1-2 hours might work better.

I believe the that bug was a hellgrammite bug. Look it up they get big with huge pinchers. When I was younger my "granddude" as we called him. my grandfather would take us fishing the Delaware River and the canal path in pa would use them to catch trout in the canal and shad in the river. Excellent bait. Lava, pupa stages... great job on the builds. I like the shifter cart. Needs a gyroscope from bmx to make paddle shift/cable, ya dont need clutch to downshift. Did this on mine back in 1986 on my 125cc shifter cart we called it The Suicide Sled, it was bad Azz. No one ever got hurt on it b/c it was insanely fast built it from the ground up. Ill alwayz have those great memories. And watching your channel brings that back to me. So in this way let me say Thank you. Keep up the great work 👍. Sincerely GGW jr.

You've probably already figured this out but you're draining the bowl under load. The float was set to gravity fuel feed and under the pressure of the pump, you were likely over powering the needle against the float. If it has a plastic float, it takes a bit of figuring to get more needle seat pressure but if it's brass, you can bend the tab upwards towards the top of the carb. The other option (easier) would be an adjustable pressure regulator. You don't need more than 1 lb for a "usually" gravity fed carb.

Thats awesome, when its idling high spray some carb cleaner around the reed cage gaskets an carb boot incase its a vaccume leak. Also that union you tapped in looked like it could leak aswell considering you just used teflon tape, spray that too 😁

Yea r welders karts sweet as hell.2 strokes are born animals .I have a couple diff toys 4 stroke and 2 stroke and I'm stuck on 2 mode. The pick up rite out of boxes with no upgrades are pretty bad ass and the lil stuff u do to up grade en are really cheap .my "100" China doll engine 50 mm piston picks up quick as hell next to 212 predator engine even with the torque converter set up o it that lil 2 stroke beat it

No, it's the big ass hole drilled into the side of the intake. There's a reason 2 strokes don't have vacuum... They don't like air leaks.

I’ve actually ran boost bottles on many two stroke dirtbike’s right off the intake to add vacuum. If there was a vacuum leak it would have Happened right from the get go not after he rode it for a while

For the kickstart - a two piece lever with a spring catch lock in the middle. Release it and unfold to full length (locking the hinge), start the motor, release the catch, and fold back away.

A small sub tank mounted above the carby with a breather,one inlet and two outlets. One to the carby, one a return line back to the main tank. Tap on the inlet line from pulse pump to restrict fuel flow to sub tank if overfilling issues occur.

me and a few buddies of mine have done this with go karts but ours are outlaw karts. for the fuel issue instad of using the fuel shut off knob you can simply runa t in the fuel supply line right to a return port in your fuel tank

Remember that you only have to opperate the clutch during take off. After that it's all speed shifting

You could always do a real shifter kart style clutch lever. Or you could change the style of your shifter so its more of a straight lever that you push/pull for gear changes. Instead of how right now it twist the shifting rod that goes down to the cables that hook to the shift arm on the transmission. If you do a push/pull style you will be able to have a more solid engagement. What would be really cool is to install an electric push/pull solenoid actuator then install buttons on the steering wheel for up/down shifting. Then do an clutch lever mounted on the wheel. You only need the clutch to get moving anyway. From then on just let off the throttle for a moment. I helped my buddy build a long travel mini rail that has a CBR1000RR engine on it and he did an electric shifter and also a power commander with the quick shifter which cuts the ignition for a split second so you can do full throttle upshifts without the clutch. We got it all set up that we can get it moving with the clutch, then from there we just hammer down and push a button to up shift. It straight hauls ass in the sand! We geared it so that we pretty much dont even use first or 6th gear. 2nd-5th is plenty. 5th gear at 8500rpm is over 80mph. It will easily break 100 mph which it is scary at 65mph+

you can get a pulse pump for riding lawn mower at most Ride lawn mower parts places and they're usually 10 to $20 and they're the same thing they run off of a vacuum pump

On starting at thing you can add small actuator that runs on air when you pop the valve shoots out the actuator I'm a Kickstart probably do that with small bursts of air they may even have a electric actuator that would work the same

Put a short wood screw hole in the back of the antifreeze handle to pour without the gurgle . Replace the screw for storage

Hey man I'm building a yz85 shifter kart and my only issue is finding the small rear sprocket that is compatible with the 14T front sprocket..how did you find one to fit the rear axle on your kart?

try fuel valve for restriction on the return line to make more main fuel line pressure. main fuel line isnt supplying enough fuel pressure now and/or tank vent isn't allowing enough venting. its a fuel supply issue cause it ran good at low rpm so bowl ran out of liquid at high rpm

Hey @redbeardsgarage I have found that when working on two strokes that when they run lean that they idle high like that and don’t rev down fast so if u richen the jet or adjust the mixture screw it should clear out because I had the same problem and the issue was that the mixture screw was too lean

It's going lean after a full throttle run because the pulse pump can't keep up after the return mod. (Or at least that's what I think) try opening it up all the way and rip it again to see if it still high idles when you let off.

instead of running the overflow line to the gas cap just run it to the feed line to the pulse pump put a tee in the supply gas line with a check valve create a circular flow that way you are not blocking the vent to the gas tank and air locking it.

Bypass valve should be in the fuel return line to tank and not the carb feed line. Lean lean lean. Think McFly think. A "Pump-Around" setup would be great for that application. Puts a return line at the top of the carb bowl with a return fuel pump - just eliminate the floats and needle.

Jetting is probably not that far off. With the stock size fuel inlet seat the float is unable to control the fuel level. With the bypass/tee set up you have it will be too low sometimes or over flowing the carb other times. If you can get a Snowmobile seat for it, it will work much better. The typical size for the hole should be 1.5mm to 1.8mm (just over 1/16") The stock size is probably 3.2mm or so. Fine for gravity feed like the bike has but a pulse pump can put out as high as 8 psi and it'll just blast the seat open. Your other option is to mount the tank above the carb and use gravity like it's designed for. Kind of a pain to do but it'll work.

Yeah the 2 stroke will pull to much vacuum because it a intake stroke every stroke. You could of put the petcock in the vacuum line and limit the vacuum. Your setup works though haha I have used that with electric pumps

definitely whip up a paddle shifter, IMHO C&C blew it by making separate left+right hinged units, needs to be 1 piece "butterfly" pull+pull arrangement, so you can tell where it's at (what gear) by feel and visually both. only one hand on the wheel when shifting is really sketch!

When a two stroke fires and the piston drives down to bdc it creates pressure, the reeds prevent that pressure from blowing back through the carb. When it goes up to tdc the vacuum is created. Up stroke creates vacuum down stroke creates pressure in the bottom end. Pretty sure your barbs on the wrong side of the reeds.

I’d also like to add that performance 2 strokes like Honda require proper premix oil. Weed eater oil or lawn equipment two stroke premix ignites at a lower flash point and will blow an engine like this up.
