Crabbing NJ - Metedeconk River

We ventured into the inner parts of Metedeconk river. A tiny shaded place where the river meets the fresh water. We didn’t know if we’ll catch any crabs. We ended up with a dozen. A real surprise. We also caught an eastern painted turtle and some big snapping turtles! Hot sunny day. Enjoy the video🥰!

We did hear you can eat them😆, but we’ve never tried it. The long scooper we got from Dick’s Sporting Goods for about $39.99. It’s light, extendable and does not rust. Thanks for watching😊!

Pabili naman ng pang ulam dyan ! Sarap sarap kasi laging me crabs kayo, mahaldin bilihin yan . Matataba ba ang crabs , kasi lam ko pag summer ay payat sila ? 👍49. Uy may pagong ulit , tulad dati na napanuod ko sa yo.

Great video! I finally got to Windward Beach today!! I did ok. Caught 9. It was very windy though and I’m not sure I was on the right pier.

9 is great! We passed there first and met this older gentleman whose been there since 5:00 am and caught only 3🦀. It’s been slow lately, even in the bigger and longer pier. We think the big males are starting to mate and ignoring the bait. It should pick up later on. Good luck🦀🥰!

I was there Sat about 9am and they had a farmers market and a lot more going on.i saw one guy crabbing off a pier it may have been u but it was too much traffic in there for me so I left.

@@damagekids Yeah it may have been, i have a decent set up where i go, chair, the long net and the usual green crab traps. thats me. and i dont go on saturdays anymore and i regret doing it. there's a strict reason why. 😂

Beautiful place. Went out to Route 30 caught 13 nice size ones. Didn’t do any video since it was really my first time out. Going to Brick this coming week.

Yeah, we were surprised too. We thought we were there for some fresh water fishing but we dropped some lines anyway, and Wow! We got some🦀!

@@thandastones888 well hey, its a brackish water area! i'm definitely gunna check this out definitely tomorrow! i've had successfully luck fishing there, but never crabbed there? are traps recommended too? or just hand lines?

@@SFR_07 Drop lines are better, less snag. We dropped some traps and half of the time it got caught in dead branches under water. Just bring extra bait. The turtles are eating them way too fast😊

@@thandastones888 yeah, i noticed the snappers and painted turtles were getting all over for your baits. there greedy as much as the crabs are too. thanks for the reccomendation! good luck to you future crabbing! eventually you guys will run into me, i usually go crabbing 2 times per week at windward and other places too. but windward is my top location, stay safe out there!🎣🦀👍

Ha! Ha! Thanks!!😊 There were lots of them and probably ate half of our bait🐢. Sometimes you throw a fresh bait and by the time you pull it up, all the meat is gone! They grow big here😆.

It’s Forge Pond Park ( Metedeconk River Access ) 428 NJ-70 , Brick Township, NJ 08723. There are trash bins but no restrooms. Its good for fresh water fishing too, so bring some worms. You may want to use drop lines for crabbing, our traps keep getting snagged in the silt and branches underwater. Enjoy and Good luck!🥰

No, this is along NJ-70. Forge Pond Park. Metedeconk River access. Beautiful place😊Lots of shade and fresh water fishing. The crabs were a surprise😊
