@@joefosh Gandolfini was a master with a knife and a fork and a plate of food. At first I thought it was just to show off how he was a master of eating various iterations of pasta, but he extended his mastery to loading a fork with the exact right proportion of meat and side dish before talking (somehow elegantly) with his mouth full of food.

It's hip to say that. Have you seen his music comedy? His Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Extreme impressions? He is the only damn comedian on TV who is steering clear of the low hanging fruit of Trump bashing/parodies. You cannot make a parody of a parody. Jimmy Fallon is honest and genuine. He makes jokes about what he finds funny instead of incessantly virtue signalling like everybody else. I know he laughs about everything, but it's a genuine laugh. I'll take that over another Trump skit anytime.

Kristen Stewart's lip biting becomes even more curious if you consider that it found it's way into E.L James novel "50 Shades of Grey", which started as "Twilight" fan fiction. The lip biting is one of Anastasia Steele's (the novel's protagonist) most characterisic traits, which implies that she is based on Stewart.

John Cusack went to my high school (Many years before I did, of course). I assume on days it was raining he'd stand outside the classroom and listen through the window with one of those old-timy hearing horns. Also, you should have included how Jonathan Frakes (Riker from Star Trek The Next Generation) sits in chairs. He climbs over the back of them.
@enzd735
@enzd735 8 жыл бұрын
...I've watched TNG so many times, yet never picked up on that. Not sure if it had more to do with his size or his back injury. He also leans a lot when he's still.
@Mech610
@Mech610 8 жыл бұрын
Enzd It may be a combination of both conditions. The leaning is definitely from the injury, though. But yeah, there's a compilation video of him climbing over the backs of chairs in like half a dozen scenes from TNG (And there's definitely many more, but the video maker chose those for the compilation). It's kind of mesmerizing to watch how he'd enter a scene and with a single action immediately own the room lol.

I sit on most chairs the same way. I'm 6'1", but have very long legs for my height. Any chair that isn't about belly button high just gets hurdled like the way Riker does it. Think that probably has a lot to do with it, very few people have commented on it with me. It's weird, but not weird enough to draw someones attention to exactly what's happening. They just think "hm, that seemed different".
@Maximusrex4575
@Maximusrex4575 8 жыл бұрын
I had seen an interview where that maneuver was mentioned, and it came up that he did it for two reasons, one it was an inside joke making fun of how small the chairs they used on set were, and the other was it was easier for him to do smoothly later on when he had some back issues.

Jennifer Aniston's throat clearing seems to be exclusive to Friends (the only clips shown here). That might imply that this is a quirk of "Rachel's" that Aniston consciously used for the character. nat4200 Yeah. I remember watching the commentary on the movie Rounders once, and Edward Norton has a scene where he and and Matt Damon are walking down the street while Norton eats a hot dog. nat4200 Exactly. And having people eating in a scene probably makes editing harder if they have to use different takes of the same scene. It's really noticeable when an actor has taken a bite out of something but it's suddenly whole again in the next shot. Or when someone's drinking and the liquid level in the glass keeps going up and down. I'm sure it's easier to just leave food out of a scene completely.
@frozenaorta
@frozenaorta 8 жыл бұрын
Amelia Q. Yep. It's continuity errors just waiting to happen. Back when my girlfriend and I used to actually watch Big Bang Theory, we always used to be amused by how they never ate. I mean, the group is CONSTANTLY eating on that show--they just never actually take a bite. They just stir and stir and poke. Then right when it looks like someone might take a bite... They freeze and react to something said.

I'm convinced that the reason Jimmy Fallon is such a successful talk show host is that he can sing, he can act, and he can tell jokes... but he can't do any of them particularly well. @@austindorf83 It's called sarcasm and it's funny that you're completely misinterpreting your own statement. Humans are prone to grammatical error, and if you are using THAT as a basis to weigh intelligence it only makes your own point moot and throws out any credibility you may think you have. You might also want to read about Skitt's Law. Skitt's Law is an Internet axiom which states that people who correct other's spelling or grammar are likely to commit errors themselves. It is often used as a humorous critique of the pedantic Internet users known as Grammar Nazis. Several similar laws referring to the same principle have arisen independently, but Skitt's Law is the most prevailing term. You're welcome to read more at knowyourmeme.com/memes/skitt-s-law **p.s. That Jimmy Fallon thing is called a Fill - what comedians say/do after a joke to seem as if they're being interrupted by the laugh. When I was a kid I noticed Joan Rivers doing this. After EVERY punchline, she would say, "It is JUST...." as if about to say "It is just crazy how that person I just insulted is so blah blah blah...." It always drove me crazy. Once I noticed it, it was all I could hear.

Harrison Ford also loves getting soaking wet in his films. Star Wars: A New Hope - When they go down the trash chute; Empire SB - Snow on Hoff (it's moisture, I'll take it); Return of The Jedi - When he comes out of the carbonite. Indiana Jones films - he's at least drenched in sweat most of the time! Blade Runner? Lots of rain. The Fugitive - When he jumps into the dam. What Lies Beneath - That's a particularly wet film. I'm sure there are more. Bottom line is that Ford loves getting completely sopping wet.

Jimmy Fallon doesn't so much start speaking gibberish as he does start slurring his speech. This is a combination of two things. 1) Sometimes it's considered funnier to say something humorous and just keep going as if you're unimpressed by your own joke, because it makes it feel more impressive when something genuinely funny you just said doesn't even faze you, so 2) he does it in a way that allows the audience to keep laughing without having to worry that they're missing vital information while he continues talking. It's more a strange technique than a tic.

see, i actually thought this out. i figured there are three "man" words for "seductress": gigolo, romeo, and lothario. a gigolo is in it for money, a romeo is in it for love, but a lothario is in it purely for the sexual conquest. although casanova is good too.
@WakenerOne
@WakenerOne 8 жыл бұрын
You figured wrong, and you didn't even count the first one that came to my mind: "Seducer." And then there are "wolf," "bird dog," "inveigler," "debaucher," "Don Juan," "playboy," "gallant," "womanizer," "gay boy," "philanderer," "charmer," "lady-killer," "ladies' man," "trifler," "seductor," and yes, "lothario," as well as others. A "romeo" is NOT in it for love. A "romeo" is one who has a reputation of success with many women, usually without any thought of the consequences. The singer in the song "The Wanderer" by Dion is a "romeo." But Hank Moody from Californication would not be because he *frequently* considered the consequences, and saw an individual beauty in every woman he was with.

That's genious. If you're hungry, eat on the job. Its like a fringe benefit. Wonder if drinkers have incorporated booze and acting?

Catherine Mathers Usually it's not really booze though. I read somewhere that sometimes they use apple juice instead of beer, or water for vodka, etc etc. Though it did see... I honestly forgot the movie, but they didn't substitute anything for actual alcohol because it was supposed to be a quick scene... yet went on for take after take after take, after take. I want to say that it was Chris Pratt in Take Me Home Tonight, though I could totally be wrong. I do recall the hotdogs from he first American Pie, where Jason Biggs had stated that they ate so many of them during the scene in the restaurant, that he had to start spitting them out or else he was going to vomit.

I like John Cusack, he's way to under-rated. Deserves more of the limelight and bigger roles if you ask me.

I believe the reason why Martin Sheen puts on his coat like that is that one of his arms is slightly paralyzed from a accident while he was being born. It certainly looks cool though.

The Jennifer Aniston thing is called a "kremt" in Norwegian. It's a shame there's no proper English translation of that word, it's very useful.

@@MrDlt123 Sam can act. Just watch Kingsman, Lakeview Terrace and Django. He played 3 different characters convincingly. Even in Avengers Captain Fury is Captain Fury. No one will mistake him as hitman in Pulp Fiction. Clint Eastwood is just an example of typecasting that works very well. Sure he plays no one but himself all the time. But it works with his characters. Dirty Harry won't be as great a movie as it has been had Harry Callaghan portrayed by Brando or De Niro.

The Jennifer Aniston one is unfair, I think. You only showed clips from Friends, so it's reasonable to say that was just a tick she made up for the Rachel character. And it does fit the character, so why not? Had you shown even a single clip from any of her other work, I might believe it...
