Cracking Prints & Color Problems

Your partly correct about color diffusion. It commonly happens with magenta channel, as black channel opening is right next to it on l1800 manifold. There are two common reasons this happes, 1- the printhead wiper issue: either the wiper is not clean or its damaged if you are facing this issue commonly. You can check the wiper by moving the carriage to the left side and inspect the wiper. There is a flat head screw on right hand side that unlocks the carriage to move it easily. 2- Your print head is hitting the paper, the resulting smudge temporarily pushes black ink on to magenta channel, but as the print continues it starts to clear up. If your are facing this issue too frequently, it might be time to adjust your printhead levels. It is also a good idea to to attach painters tape to the front of film to starighten it, or just attach a suction bed to it so the paper stays flat. This issue is too common in single head DTF printers, particularly on L1800s

Thanks for these awesome videos. First time DTF user here. Do you think the pro colored a4 is a good unit for a very first printer? We have experience with sublimation and vinyl we got the a4 to see if the technology is a fit for us

Be prepared to learn to wet cap and maintenance. That sublimation printer is essentially a normal printer, compared to a dtf printer. White Ink clogs printhead and needs to be purged from the head, at least before every use. For best results, purge that head daily. MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR MAINTENANCE EVERY TIME YOU FINISH WITH THE UNIT if you don't do this, might as well give it to me. Buy high quality ink, don't use shit ink, or your printer will take a big fat shit and you'll have to replace the printhead. You need to be prepared to keep this in a humidity controlled environment, roughly 72 ish degrees, medium humidity. Alot of these style printers are defective out the box, I've heard less from this brand, but I do not know personally how reliable they are. The print slow as shi, but man do they print good. If you're down to do the maintenance, you're good. It's not that bad, BUT IT IS CRUCIAL. do it, or else.

Hey, I'm planning to remove the manufacture's white ink completely & refill with new fresh ink in my Epson L1800 DTF printer as i'm experiencing cracking with my prints. Can i use a different brand of white ink mixing with Procolored inks eg: Magenta, Cyan & yellow that came with my printer? Since i only ran out of white i'm only refilling the white ink & bought it from different supplier not from Procolored.

Yes you can that’s not a problem! Just make sure you source high quality DTF ink!

What about it the print I got was a really good one but after hours of wear the shirt started to get small cracks? It didn’t happen before.

I went to print white and it cracked on the film before powder how is that possible? Plus I suck white through my dampers and no more air bubbles boom air bubbles switched out my dampers sucked ink through boom bubbles again I run print head checks and all lines are there what’s going on?
