THANK YOU! I have a desk that is beat up and I wasn't sure how to paint it. Sanding it down and filling in all of the dings would have taken forever, and this will technique will embrace the imperfections perfectly. P.S. You ARE helping the serious DIYers tremendously. Anyone who has the time to criticize you, isn't serious about DIY. The amount of your subscribers speaks for itself. Big hug.

You know how to rock a how-to video. I have watched umteen videos to get what you just showed me in 3:25. I got so tired of fast forwarding through so many 12 - 35 min videos to get to the information I needed. To people out there making DIY videos, please, we don't need to see every brush stroke, every sanding, every waxing on an entire piece. You say what you're using, you show how to use it, you do it. The brain picks up just as much when watching fast speed as when watching real time. I subscribed. Keep up the good work.

AMEN! Very annoying how so many people talk for twenty minutes before getting to the point of the video. What's just as fun is sitting through an entire two minute long grand production just so they can throw up their logo before starting the video. Ugh!

That works beautifully - I had to guess at the timing before the second coat of paint after Elmers but it was roughly about 5 - 10 mins tending toward 10. It's the best crackle effect - AMAZING! I paid $35 AU for a tiny pot of Annie Sloan crackle and it's 2 parts so that was $70 in total - what a RIP OFF. I mixed my own chalk paint - picked up a 4 litre can of flat white latex for $15 and knocked out 500ml of chalk paint which is 2 tbs calcium carbonate 1 tbs water to 8 oz of paint then tinted it with acrylic! Dirt cheap way of getting beautiful shabby chique looks - thanks Debbie you are a creative genius!

Okay, so I enjoyed your video and tips! I found your presentation funny, and informative. I was serious for 23 years, as an active duty military man. I hated all that seriousness! Now I look for ways to smile, to be "not so serious", don't let the "professional, serious, uptight" types buther you, they secretly wish they could loosen up.

I watched this video four years ago, and loved it. And had great success crackle painting a board for some bathroom towel hooks, even though I didn't use chalk paint or the aging wax, and I left the board on the wall the entire time (which I've heard is not ideal)... So, all I had was some old, still-usable flat latex sitting around in the basement, which meant whatever I didn't use on a project I'd have to take to the paint section of the landfill eventually, so guess what I did? Yes, ma'am. It was fun, and the thing turned out good enough that the homebuyers didn't complain or call it a deal-breaker a couple of years later. So, SCORE. Fast-forward to June 2018... I'm older now, with a bit of time on my hands, and no desire to spend $$$ on furniture, and have purchased a few little Goodwill pieces for cheap, thinking I'll chalk paint them... but one is the wrong kind of finish (formica! lol how gauche!) for distressing, so I thought "Hey, I'll Elmer's Glue crackle paint that!" And I was telling my sister what I was thinking (my super uber-talented sister who KNOWS "how to do that" and "that" and "that" -- you get the idea -- but she'd never heard of Elmer's Glue crackle painting (WHAT?!?!) So I was trying to impress my sister, I was like all "Oh, yeah, it's awesome, I know ALL about it, did it, here's photos" ... and then went to get started on my little table, and realized I'd happened to FORGET how to crackle paint with Elmer's glue (even though I do still have photos of the board I painted), and she wants PHOTOS of the TABLE... it's gettin' real... and so I searched for a tutorial, and BAM here you are! And dude. You're so entertaining, I watched it twice. And also? I sent the link to my sister!! (Maybe you're secretly my sister? Actually, no... you're more the age of my kid... you're adorable!! I'll bet you're a "hoot" as my grandma used to say.) So, anyway. (This is the same sister who puts up the guardrails as I happily bounce down my rabbit trails, and herds me back to the point with, "Short story, short story." It kinda works. LOL. She's not here right now. In case you were wondering.) Thanks for posting this video. I know I can crackle paint now! I just KNOW it! :) Peace out! :)

Question; Do you let the red dry before adding the Glue? 2nd Question; applying the Glue, do you paint it all over , or just in globs in spots? 3rd and maybe not last question; How long between Glue application and final paint application? P&K Rustics id say let the under base coat dry first yes and then apply glue lightly if u want smaller cracks and all over if u want it cracked all over or in spots if u want it in certain spots. Let the glue dry some but dont let it dry all the way. She said let it get tacky but not dry or it wont work. Then add the top coat
