Her Ghost in the fog and Swansong for a Raven together is THEE best story told in metal history hands fucking down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@2yoyoyo1Unplugged2 жыл бұрын
It's certainly poignant, but hardly a story. A woman was raped and killed, her lover avenged her and then he was caught and burned alive next to her with her still defiled, dead body in full display for him and the crowd that watched them both burn in a grand pyre. That's _incredible_ imagery, but sounds like a single event, not a full story.

Except he wasn't burned. See "Sisters of the mist" for the final part.

Lesser known fact about this song, this song was written as a sequel to Her Ghost in the Fog.
@yummyorangefinch7 жыл бұрын
Where did you learn that?
@kgsolomanfivethousan7 жыл бұрын
Dani said it a few times. If you read the lyrics to each you can see it's a continuation of the story of "Clarissa".
@yummyorangefinch7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I can see it in the lyrics and feel like it's not a hard leap to make. He even says "her ghost in the fog" in the lyrics. I was wondering if there was a specific place it was mentioned that this is meant as a sequel though or if it was just putting the pieces together.

So my understanding of this is after "Her Ghost In The Fog" the man whose lover was defiled by the churchmen who he then burned went and attempted suicide at her grave, but survived the attempt, was captured by the villagers and burned alive with his wife's corpse displayed naked next to him in the pyre?
@ZoidZZX Жыл бұрын
Not quite so. He was captured (looks like there was cardinal involved, judging by crimson robes of office) and put behind bars, waing to be burned with her corpse. Then "Sisters of the Mist" happened.

Dawn discovered Her there Beneath the Cedar's stare Silk dress torn, Her raven hair Flown to gown Her beauty bared Was starred with frost, I knew Her lost I wept 'til tears crept back to prayer She'd sworn Me vows in fragrant blood "Never to part Lest jealous Heaven stole our hearts" Then this I screamed: "Come back to Me I was born in love with thee So why should fate stand in between?"
