I make custom rhinestone jackets and usually just sell by word of mouth, but I am doing my first holiday fair in a few weeks with pre-made stuff and the section on the sign for custom orders was so helpful! I was stressing about if i should have a sign and what to put on it. Thank you!!

Looking forward to this one cause I have to set up differently based on the venue and I’m vending at wasteland weekend this year and need allll the ideas for which ways tables can be arranged 😂😊🖤

Im considering making some kind of downloadable/printable document that has a bunch of booth configurations on it. This would be a pretty big undertaking, but could potentially help a lot of people. In this video, I couldn’t really list ways to set booths up because honestly that number is infinite. Some people use tables, some use racks. Other use different types of displays, so the possibilities of booth layouts are limitless. Instead, I decided to show people a tool they can use to map out their own layouts. To basically see them before they try it in real life. There’s a few tips & techniques in this video that I haven’t talked about before, so I’m hoping this can be a useful video for everyone, no matter what type of setup they want or products they sell.

Thank you so much! I’m ordering the chalk board sign and small ones. I had decided I needed the little ones but hadn’t shopped yet and these were on sale!! Very reasonable price. Like the boxes but I may need bigger ones not sure yet. Still figuring out what I’m making. I need to clear out some of my 50 years of crafting by completing my left over patterns and projects. If rather sell these than have my kids just give it away some day. Appreciate the advise to get me up to date. Last craft show was about 25 years ago. Lots of things have changed by some not.

I have a video coming out on the channel August 15th that might be perfect for this. I expect it to be pretty lengthy - probably around two hours if I had to guess. That video, and the way it’s going to be formatted, would work really well for a listen-while-driving experience.

What is your opinion of having your check out table near the front of the booth? My concern is to not have people pay then grab some little something on their way out.
@howtocraftfairАй бұрын
Good question - towards the front can be helpful for customers to know where to go for the transaction, but aesthetically, I don’t think it’s the best look. Sometimes you have a very limited time for visitors of the show to look at your booth and decide if they’re gonna stop and check your products out. Do you want them to focus on a checkout stand, or your creations they could potentially purchase?

On the subject of tent weights, my local fire marshal actually specifies to use cinder blocks. I hate them. Much prefer out of town events for that reason.
@howtocraftfair Жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s pretty odd - never heard of that as a preference before - especially from someone in a position like that! Can’t blame you for wanting to avoid the local shows.

Hello, luv your content. I will be setting up a booth at the Painted Tree. I have a 6x10 booth. Any tips? I really want to highlight the men jewelry since there’s not a lot of sellers out there. I also have women jewelers and other non jewelry items. I have always struggled on what to take to vending events because I have sooo many different items that I make😩 Thanks🤗
@howtocraftfair9 ай бұрын
Try and think about the demographic of the shoppers and base the design around what you think will best appeal to them. Also with jewelry, you always want to make sure that lighting is on point. Avoid having shadows in your booth. If you can’t have some of your own lighting to “enhance” the look of the jewelry, then position the jewelry part of your booth towards the best light the venue itself offers. This will require you to approach the booth from the shopper’s perspective. Is there a certain section of your booth where if someone is standing in/near it, it gets covered in shadow, or is it all good? Then just be sure to cover the basics like if you’re going to have men’s & women’s jewelry, just be sure to separate those and not have them blended. Then if you have other items outside of jewelry, be sure that’s separate too. Nice, clearly defined zones. But try to tie in your branding into the whole booth. Similar looking price tags, signage, colors, etc.

I signed up for my very first farmer market and I found your channel while looking for advice! Thank you so very much for making these videos I learned so much and practically binged your videos🤩 I wanted to ask your opinion on this. I got one 6ft table for my 10 x 10 booth but I was wondering if I should get another one since the space is expensive real estate. I sell teas and only have 7 products. Im conflicted on getting another smaller table that could serve as a checkout, samples, and sign up for newsletter table, or settle on just having one table and put everything on that one table. What is your thought process on my dilemma?
@howtocraftfair Жыл бұрын
I would definitely recommend getting the second 6’ table. As you mentioned, it’s nice to spread out a little bit with signage and other miscellaneous materials. Plus, it will help to “fill out” that 10’ x 10’ area. Without the second table, it will feel a little off with so much unused space. So even with only the seven teas/items, now you’ll be able to display them possibly in more creative or interesting ways knowing that you’ve got plenty of space for it. Thanks for the kind words about the channel and glad to have you here! 😃

Wow great tips as always. New ideas to use and share with my group. Would love advice too on displaying my banner for indoor events. I got the outdoor down but the indoor vents puzzle me on displaying my name banner. Thanks. ❤️
@howtocraftfair Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, it can be a bit difficult to display a large banner when you aren’t able to use the outdoor canopy. I have had vendors use canopies at some of my indoor shows before and that has helped them to not only keep their indoor/outdoor setup consistent, but to also stand out at indoor events.
@theresabw Жыл бұрын
I've built a simple banner stand out of 1/2" PVC that can lean against a wall indoors. Freestanding, it really depends on room and booth layout!

if I have a corner booth, can I apply that in this website?

Yes, I used to insert aisles or walls into the space around the booth to better visualize where the booth is inside the venue.

@howtocraftfair Жыл бұрын
Oh no! Sometimes this happens if you set an event date (it usually requires you to put a date in) and the date has passed. I used to put a date WAY in the future so that I could keep coming back to a project and edit it many times.
