Just to say that I'm continuing to really enjoy both of your channels, this and your Annabel Margaret KZbin channel. Your videos are like an alternative to meditation for me, I find all your videos so relaxing. It wouldn't be that way if you weren't so genuine and true. So I just wanted to thank you for that and your content. As my intuition is never wrong. It's definitely unlike me to regularly watch any KZbinr. All the best, just wanted to give credit where it's due again. 😊👏

This looks great! Also it was amazing to see my comment in your video; I feel famous! Instead of a tea towel, several layers of cheesecloth together will be strong enough to not be flimsy, but will still give you a better strain.

That sounds really good! I don´t really have milk-thistles where I live, but I will keep it in mind! As a note for preserving the jelly: What My mum always does when she makes jams and jellies is that she caps it off when it is still hot and then turns the jar upside down so that the cap is on the work surface. We usually let it rest overnight so that it can cool down before storing it. It helps to create a vacuum and can help to make the jam/jelly last longer, which is pretty great :)

I am so glad I found your channel Annie! I have always been attuned to nature, crystals, and my intuition but only just recently started getting into Witchcraft. Witchcraft and Wicca were "bad words" in my household growing up as I was raise in a southern baptist home. As I have grown into adulthood and separated myself from those beliefs, I have started exploring the beauty of Witchcraft and viewing Earth as the Goddess she is. :) I am still discovering my interests and core crafts, but I am really enjoying seeing your process. I would love if all types of witches would share their processes like you are. Thank you for the education and for the sneak peek into your practices!

I was so excited to see you were boiling the apples whole, because that is how I make apple sauce! I boil them whole, about two pounds, till they are fork tender. Then I let them cool and peel them. Cut away all the meat into a separate pot and add water just to cover. Boil them and mash them at the same time until I get a good consistency. Then just add sugar to taste; usually less than a spoonful. I'm do glad it worked out this time for you. Experimenting can be fun, but frustrating. The successes make it all worth it though.

I’ve been making many batches of apple jelly for years , I’ve never thought of adding things like milk thistle? I’ve added other things jalapeño peppers and other things to make jellies for chicken or pork or beef toppings but adding wild herbs is a wonderful change! By the way with a few easy steps your jelly could be crystal clear and set very well by hanging your jelly bags or an old clean tshirt or pillowcase over night and not squeezing them! For making real jelly it’s a good idea to have a candy thermometer when you reach 220 deg f. I know if you start time ing from the time it begins to boil it should be about 20 to 25 minutes with 4 cups of liquid , it should be ready! But knowing the actual temp is key, Hope this helps with your next batch! Xoxoxo love your channel I’ve been a fan for a very long time!

I wonder if an unbleached muslin cloth would work well for squeezing the apples. It's a somewhat loose weave without being like cheese cloth. Plus unbleached muslin is inexpensive, so it's accessible for a lot of people. Might be worth a shot for anyone making the jelly! I will have to be on the lookout for milk thistle, since I live in a city it might be difficult to find.

Its because in the West we tend to wax our fruit (its why we're pushed to wash our fruits before eating). Its to make them more appealing and 'perfect' looking. You can get apples in bags, that aren't waxed and have imperfections on them.
@dannydonnelly8198
@dannydonnelly8198 2 жыл бұрын
@@DandisDen Not entirely true, non organic apples do have wax on them, you're right about that but it's used for preservation. A waxed apple is usually grown in a different country with cheap labor and shipped by cargo. Some may be months old before the get on the shelf.
