Alistair! You're a GENIUS!! That's the exact technique I've been looking for so long... I've been looking all over the internet and doing my own research on how to make the micro fractures... And you discovered it! Man... You're awesome! Thank you, I'll put that into practice!

Thanks Juan Carlos so happy to hear it! I was very happy to discover it. I have a short coming out tomorrow that shows just that technique on its own.

I did a test piece of cobblestone with this technique yesterday, and if you don't include painting it took me under 5 min. Putting out a short on it tomorrow. 🤟

Maybe use rustoleum Matt clear coat in very thin coats?

I think anything sprayed would have been a better call than the brush on

That board looks great! Just wondering, instead of using varnish, what if you did a coat of gloss Mod Podge, then 1 or 2 coats of matte Mod Podge, and skip the varnish altogether? I only ask because I too have had varying results with varnish, but I live in California, and trust me, its a dry heat.

Great suggestion! I'll give it a shot, I have plenty of both mod podges.
