Crafting With Broken Dolls From Mudlarking Finds

This week we crafted outside because it is so hot here at the moment! We put together some little broken doll heads. My creation maybe a little disturbing but beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)

God bless you for trying to help that fox. I live in the city and by one of the busiest streets in our city. Me and my husband our dog woke up early morning about 4:00 am trying to get footage of Neowise the comet. We saw a black and white cat and low and behold we see a beautiful fox!!The wierd thing was, he was hanging out with this cat! They where up to something, cuz the fox walked away as though he never saw us! The cat took off fast one way and the fox was cool as a cucumber and walked away slowly. The fox looked like he was carrying something in his mouth. I felt so blessed to be able to see that. It was amazing.

Well Fleur, the broken dolls head was slightly nightmarish, cool, but scary. Loved it as always, hope your little fox has a full recovery, we had one in our garden years ago who got so tame my son played with him like a family dog.

Lovely to see the nature while crafting in the country. The moth is a mint moth pyrausta aurata. Nice to see the fox and that your going to help him but be careful sunny doesn't catch the mange from him. Enjoy your holiday

I am thrilled to see here and on many other British youtube and Instagram posts that the fox is being looked at with kinder eyes than in eras of an earlier time. In the USA, we are far behind the British but there have been some improvements with cat spay/neuter/release programs and some decrease in kill-shelters. Every improvement makes the world a better place. I enjoy the nature video parts very much and I like to see the English plants, moths, butterflies, etc. It's very interesting.

the butterfly actually a day time moth. it's called a cinnaber moth. normally darker, when looking bleached out means it's getting to the end of it's days. love you guys, you are both wonderful. xx

Your artistic shots of nature are as interesting as watching you create your 'masterpieces'. Could I suggest perhaps listing the names of some of the flowers, etc.? We in the US don't have some of the things you show on your videos, and I, personally, would appreciate a little information regarding those items. Even the butterflies are a mystery at times. Aww😊, your precious little "Foxie Locksie" friend!! How sad his housing was destroyed 😯☹️. Thank you for caring to get him some relief for his skin issue 🤗. He'll definitely help keep any rodent problems at bay. They are omnivores so any bits of fruits, berries and veggies ( NO onions, please. VERY toxic!) would be a nice treat for him. Perhaps a small treat of boiled chicken mixed with veggies would be yummy good😋. Some foxes will eat unsalted peanuts, too( good source of protein 👍). Poor doll heads! ❤What a pity!😢😢😢 Still, I would try to restore the face with the help of a miliput. Build up cheeks, nose, lips, chin. And the one from which the needle box was made is generally easy to restore. Try to redo it.

I have to agree with Oscar over the doll heads they are terrifying. They remind me of the neighbour boy Sid who loves to mutilate toys in the Toy Story films Maybe rather than mutilating his sisters dolls he was 'crafting' like your doing. Did you manage to treat the fox for his mange? I am so jealous of your garden and its abundant wild life.

I did a little research and believe the little ( butterfly ) is a (gold) mint moth Pyrausta Aurata. Wingspan 15-20mm, flight time May - Sept and as the name suggests the caterpillars feed on different species of mint ! We’re both maybe a little wiser now ? 💕

Well, you asked what the critter was. Being in the States, and not being a moth/butterfly expert - I know one, but I'm not going to ask her - sorry, - I will tell you that it is a moth not a butterfly. I did learn how to tell that much difference from my expert friend. The ear mosaic should be called "I'm All Ears." And the poor fox. I hope you are keeping Sunny safe from the fox...

I found a doll in the lake once, they had to drain the lake for some reason and I noticed something strange looking in the mud, pulled out a life size realistic vinyl baby doll, scared the clean fuck right out of me since it looked like a newborn baby, I dropped it and ran, went back for it once my nerves settled and took it home to clean up, wasn’t discoloured yet so it couldn’t have been in there for long, gave it to my friends young son since the doll was a boy doll
