I just discovered that the engine is only attached at the front, so you can just grab the sides of the engine and pull up and it tips forward. Rest it on something about 6" to 8" tall and it's easy to work on the underside. Thanks for the video. I doubt I would've noticed that piece inside that you had to salvage from the old pump. I probably would've thought they gave me extra parts!

Thanks for the video. Not much info around on the craftsmen. Especially where the unloader valve is concerned.

From what I’ve seen, some of them don’t.

Craftsman 850 series new pump and still bad pressure. The pump says 2.3 gpm and I was able to fill a 2.5 gallon gas can in 1 minute, but the pressure sucks. Ideas??? I'm at a loss. (The house pressure is good and the 8.5 hp Briggs maintains stable power under load.)

Loosen the jam nut on the unloader valve and screw it in. Should raise the pressure if everything else is working right.

Unless the instructions pointed it out, I wouldn't have noticed.

Water was spraying out the wand when I heard a “pop” and then it started spraying out the bottom of the pump, so I knew something broke.
