If you look you will see a dip at the end of your board. This is caused by putting too much pressure on the front of the planer. When starting heavy pressure on front until planer is on board then virtually all down and motion pressure is on the back and the front is for guide

You're supposed to go after the "humps" on a board. Planing to whole length will not give you the desired results you would be looking for. Once you have removed the humps, then you would plane the whole length.

I like these cause old the longer shoes. ...had a wen was no good.....thing with mine is that the show was not level so had to file and sand to get level to the back shoe.

one very positive thing about this planer is they have a very thin blade which is keyed into the drum. To change blades you simply tap the blade out of its slot and reinstall sharp edge up. Ya So What? If you have a planer where you have t loosen two bolts to remove the blade and either get it sharpened or replaced you then have the hassle of getting it aligned. This single feature alone is why I bought this planer and if you turn your blade over, just go online and order an extra pair. You are getting two blades right up front, No BUMMMMMMer
