I’m a small engine instructor for the state and I couldn’t agree more. Replacement parts are so inexpensive now days, it doesn’t pay to rebuild usually. Great video. Thanks dude.

I have this EXACT model that runs exactly like this one. Doubt anyone worked on it before, those two replacement screws on top were originally bolts with plastic wing nuts built into them. They vibrate themselves out and you never see them again 🤣Ask me how I know. So the OEM carb is $73, the rebuild kit is $25 and the aftermarket carb is $20. So if yours is still in decent shape and don't want to dent your plastic housing I would go with the rebuild kit. Thanks Martin for doing this video on my model, it is priceless! Quick question, on other engines there is a needle that is under the linkage that can be removed and cleaned that controls the air intake. Does this model have that and can it be taken out and cleaned and adjusted like the others?
@IndRepairКүн бұрын
Thank you for that! There is not a pilot jet like this on these carburetors like you speak of

@@IndRepair Thanks Martin, another quick question, how come there isn't a inline fuel filter like a mower has? Do you recommend putting one inline? Thanks again

@@TheDopalgangr There is one in tank on these models

@@IndRepair thanks again brother, still not wanting to start though, has a Autolite 3924 sparkplug in it. Do you know if thats the correct one and what the gap should be? .30? Weird thing is it ran perfect for about and hour and then just stopped. the bowl was dirty so I cleaned everything since I dont have a new carb

Took the plug out cleaned and installed and now it's running. Guess I'm gonna get one of those NGK plugs now

I have a similar unit that had a mouse nest under that snow cover. I started the blower and the nest caught on fire and burned through one of the wires coming from the kill switch. One wire is still intact and goes to the coil, but I cannot find where the second one is supposed to go. It looks like it goes down the same hole as the first one, but I cannot find the other end or where it was connected. Can you point me towards a diagram that might show where it's supposed to go?

The other normally goes back to ground (metal) with a metal clip

Hi Jim, I'm working on the same snow blower. My friend left bad gas in it and it's going to need a new carb and new gas tank. The both part numbers you list here show carbs with the gas line on the opposite side of what I took off. And any idea where to get a tank part number and/or order a tank?
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
I just updated the listing for the tank parts

Just picked one of these up for 25$! Typical story, previous guy used last uears gas and wouldnt start. Took it home and cleaned out the float bowl drain plug, pulled the carb and hit it with throttle body cleaner. Sanded the spark plug and gave it new gas. Started first pull.

Hey Mate, thanks for the greater video. In it you say carb p/n as 798-917 but in the description you write p/n 594-014. They look similar, but would you mind confirming which is correct?
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
It depends on the engine info, normally it is 798917 but I think this one had a different serial number break which called for the 594014
@rivermedic131 Жыл бұрын
@@IndRepair thanks for the prompt response, appreciated! Mine looks like the same engine but the 24” model. So I already ordered the 594014 for $22. So if doesn’t work, no prob, will try the 798917. Thanks again

Same carb for a 208cc as well??
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
It would depend on the engine model number. The jet size would likely be different between the two. Look it up by the number to tell for sure

@IndRepair I did a bit of research and found a carb then followed your steps and it runs great now!!!

Nice video for sure. you must’ve forgot to put the wire back on the shut off key.

It was intentional, talked about in the video but I forgot there was another shut off right there in front. Thanks for watching!
