Oh lord! It hurts to watch you pull and pull and pull and pull and pull! I went through exactly the same thing! Cracked fuel line, new fuel filter, new plug, new fuel and... Pull, pull, pull?

I am currently trying to restore this I got off my grandfather. I replace the fuel lines, I’m getting gas just no spark. I’m replacing the spark plug today. Any suggestions if it’s not the plug?

I got one of those old craftsmans for free from Facebook marketplace. It has an 18" bar. I got it running but haven't really put it through It's paces

That's funny, the cap retainer is missing. It's in the tank, so is a metal clip. I think it holds the retainer on.

How do I get to the chain oil line? My craftsman chain saw is the same as the one in the video, I have a new fuel line installed but I want to make sure the oil line is not bad. Thanks in advance

It's bad, trust me. The oil filter is toast too. I just did my fuel line today. The oil line is under the cover opposite the bar oil fill hole. There is no real pump, I'm guessing crankcase pressure pushes the oil up the line. Take the right side cover off and the cover plate with two screws. Under the cover plate is an irreplaceable plastic thing that holds the oil filter and connects to fuel type hose that runs above the bar. Mine was crumbling and I pushed the old line out of the oil outlet hole with a Phillips screwdriver. I didn't have enough fuel line to fix mine, plus I need the filter sponge which is available from eraplacementparts for about $3. There's a stiff wire poking through a tiny hole next to the oil outlet. Let me know if you figure out what it's for. Just the tip sticking out and about two inches of wire inside the saw that can rotate back and forth. I'm guessing that it wiggles around and keeps the gap around it clear of debris. Trim the oil hose flush with the surface of the outlet and u bend it to the filter holder. You'll figure it out once you take that cover off and slide out the black plastic filter holder. There's two gaskets, don't ruin them. One on the crankcase and one under the metal cover plate. Clean out all the crumbly pieces of old line.

For those wondering the answer to this- These carbs have no primer bowl so blow some air pressure into the fill hole in the gas tank to push the gas to the carb.
