Great video. Off topic, but I love the kill switch in this trimmer. It springs back to run mode once you release it. I can’t tell you how many times I struggled to start my old trimmer just to find that I had it turned off by kill switch. Lol😂

If you flip your dykes (snippers) 180 degrees you can use the angle 📐 that’s already built into the tool. 😊 Also, thank you 🙏 sir so much. I would have never thought to put the cap back on to spool up the 2 lines. 😂 Now it all makes perfect sense. I’ve been trying to spool and wind these lines up using my thumbs and anything else I could use to keep the lines in place. Lol. 😂. Seriously thanks for making & posting this video. My frustration level just dropped dramatically!

All of these videos show it being turned clockwise, but nothing after showing that it works. I turned mine this way and the line starting coming out on its own when i started it up. I tried turning the head counterclockwise, and it wa MUCH easier to turn, and worked afterwards.

Mine didn't lock either, so as per instruction manual, I just inserted about 3" and then just turned it "without pushing down on the red knob" (like I did), until only about 5" left. It will only turn one way and will make clicks. Make sure arrows are aligned prior to inserting string or it will not lock in and will come out (like mine did).

For 2 years I’ve been doing it wrong. Ran down to the garage and tried it. Strings didn’t grab good but it feeds in ok. I’ve been taking it apart to line up the holes.

There are 4 things that it could be. 1.Try and push the string in further, maybe you didn't push it in far enough. 2 make sure the arrows on the red bumper are lined up with the holes for the line. Even If they are, turn the red bumper away then line it back up again. 3when you are putting thr line in, you are missing the hole on the inside. Take the black cover off and look for the hole that the line goes into. This should give you an idea of what is going on inside once the cover is back on. 4 make sure you have the correct diameter line.

Make sure the arrows armed line up after rewinding the string. I have noticed that mine doesn't release string when they are line up when using. Hope this works

The trimmer head is good but I broke my clip off mine when I had my Craftsman weed eater 25cc is good but 27.2 is even better when I was weed eating at the country I started from the top of the tall grass the trimmer head kept getting rapped around the trimmer head that's why I don't use Craftsman any more I needed more power or ccs to cut down the tall grass I haven't tried to weed eat the country with my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer yet hopefully my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer can take all that grass down with no problem

We have to push the button in for it to turn. But the line keeps getting thrown back out.

It should just turn with an audible click. Maybe the arrows weren't lined up, or there is old string still in the spool.

This video is great...IF you start after he has it back together! I followed instructions from word one, which involved removing the head - and the red button came off as well - which was a NIGHTMARE to get back together only to find out a few more minutes into the video that it is not even necessary!!! 🤦‍♀️🤬 just start from when he starts feeding the line in!

Not always necessary, but a good practice to check as some types of line may get snagged inside. If there is line still in there, you will never get the new line in. Thanks for the nice comment.

They never show my 2 string 2 reel weed wacker 31cc craftstman it has black plastic screw and does not spin to wind in- you must warp the damn string

I would try and get an auto rewinder bump head that you can replace your current head with, it's a good option to try before buying a new model. There are a few brands out there and should work.

You may need to take the cap off with the 2 little buttons on the side of the head. This will give you access to the string that is left in the weed eater. If there are small bits that you can't remove, try using a new bit of string to push them in.

You may not have it lined up correctly, try turning the red knob anti clockwise and then back. Try pushing the line in a little further as it may not have caught enough. Also, make sure the cap is clipped in correctly. Let me know how it goes!
