bruh, speaking as an illustrator, to draw something on paper and make it look like someone is already hard, but to sculpt someone with this level of detail and precision is 10x harder. This work deserves all recognition it can have
@deputydang82918 ай бұрын
Atleast one thing you have with clay I would think would be depth, as you can stack clay to raise or lower areas or to create shadows, whereas with drawing it's often difficult to correctly shade to show something thats meant to have depth.

Watching you make Arthur's eyes was, honestly, horrifying. The thing that gets me the most is the level of detail you've put into parts that you then cover up! Like his frown lines under his hat, or the design on the saddle, which he did on top of, and many more. You've put so much more detail in than was necessary, but I really appreciate that level of commitment, because even if nobody else ever saw it, you'd still know it's there. That screams passion for your craft. Please commission this and share it with the world.

The amount of detail, some toy companies can’t even give all this detail
@JPeeee4 жыл бұрын
thats because they do mass production.
@toshinouu33064 жыл бұрын
J P theyre still able to do this level of detail, but they choose not to as it would take more workers (which means more pay) more time (they want their product out asap) and no matter the detail, toy companies target children and they wouldnt know the difference anyways. with the amount of extra work that would be put in they would have to at least double the price to keep their profit margin. so they can, but they dont. and its better imo that they dont. companies that work specifically on figurines though... they could take some notes. the target isnt kids and the consumers would know the difference.
@Caleb-hd3qs4 жыл бұрын
Toshinouu I remember as a kid the gi jo figurines used to be pretty detailed & so were the Star Wars ones. The reason would be the sculptors are making it out of clay, while toys are plastic. It’s probably much harder to get significant small details like this guy would be able too with plastic. You’re right though they could but but it’s not necessary to put too much extra work into a toy that’s going to possibly get smashed, thrown & broken
@Dannyg3.4 жыл бұрын
J P some companies do put in that much detail even the ones that mass produce but the ones he is talking about are the ones that make a toy for maybe 1.50 each and then sell them to you for 25 bucks

Agreed! On the contrary, I think it would be more impressive if it were built without the skeleton. If that were the case, the artist would've had no frame of 3d reference so it would be amazing to see it turn out this way without that reference. This is not to say the sculpture is not impressive, of course. It's awesome and the sculptor is extremely talented.

No cheaply made knock-off can duplicate the precision of detail and artistic eye that this artist has created this sculpture with. We need this excellence in every facet of our society. To do a job well is always superior to just good enough, brings joy to the heart, and a sense of satisfaction.💕
