Leave an opening in the cross piece and you can put the elec plug wire through it and that will also keep the pad in place. Nice idea!

When sewing these mats, I put a couple sheets of computer paper under the mat just to the left edge of the presser foot. The mat will move smoothly as you sew. Be careful not to sew the paper to the fabric. If you do you can pull the paper from the stitching. Great video! From, Nancy P

if I may be so bold to suggest, in minute 9 you are inching you fingers as close as you can to the foot, you can use a Awl, or any other pointed object to keep the fabric in position, maybe even the chopstick or whatever people use to push out pointy corners. Thank You CG for the many enlightening moments you've given us

So glad I saw this! I tried the "rubber bands around the pedal" trick from Pinterest and have tried a zillion different sizes from the bag and a zillion placements, but they always end up shifting and causing my sewing machine to start without my foot on it! Aaargh! That groaning just-about-to-go sound, we all know it! :-) Giving this a try instead TODAY!!! AND making one for my sewing machine that likes to wander across my table. :-)

Thanks for the video. I had previously used one layer of the liner but it didn't do the job. I used left over extra wide double fold bias tape (joined pieces) since no one but me will see it. Using 2 layers of liner really makes a difference. Glad I never spent the money for the commercial foot pedal pads.
