The velcro works like a charm! Thank you so much! My pedal was sliding all over my rug previously. It was so discouraging especially being a newbie to sewing. Now with the velcro, my pedal doesn't budge. A great and cheap fix!

My foot pedal and I have been fighting for quite a while. I think this will bring peace. Thank you!

It worked! I used the velcro adhesive dots I had on hand and put them on the little round legs on the bottom of my foot pedal and it held perfectly in place on my area rug!!!! I'm so excited. . . Is it weird to be so excited about something like this? MANY THANKS LAURA!

Great idea Laura, I used an off cut of drawer slide mat, but I keep forgetting to pick it up so hope this method will hold on carpet!

Hi Quilting Queen. GREAT TUTORIAL. You saved me from a disaster. I had to go under the table hunting for the foot pedal. I have a tile floor and the pedal seems to pedal along. With your PRECIOUS advice I will be able to sew without bumping my head on the edge of the table. That was so kind of you to share this genius tip. YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL. 👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing and caring.

What a good idea. Now I can put my mouse pads to use. Instead of a big coaster or to place cold items. Have a good week.

I've tried everything but this with no real luck. This really sounds like a winner! I purchased an area rug not to long ago in hopes that it would at least slow the little runaway down a bit, and it did but I am still chasing it more than I want to. Tape, shelf lining, and silicone mats are just a few of my tried but not true attempts at fixing the problem. The only thing I didn't try was gluing it to the tile floor...I will let you know how it goes!

Genius Laura. In exchange 'my hint for something that might help' nothing to do with sewing, is to use nail varnish to identify things like keys on a key ring. You can buy small cheap nail varnish in lots of colours. 'So very easy, to find the right one! Judy

"Put your foot down" - Now there's a phrase I remember hearing as I grew up. It meant once you decide where you're going, keep your stance of walking that way and don't let someone knock you off balance in your decision of where you intend on going in life. In the future, every time I use the foot pedal on my sewing machine I'll be thinking of this video and perhaps hearing your voice cheering me on to tackle some challenging craft project. These Velcro and mouse pad tips are such a great solution to this common problem of a loosey-goosey, runaway foot pedal. It kind of makes one wonder why anyone would spend $15-20 for a manufactured product when this common sense one (less than $5) will do the trick. And . . . it's another "Atta Girl!" for Laura.

Madam I’m from India and love the way you explain the things... Could you please suggest me which sewing machine is suitable for me as a beginner?
@SewVeryEasy4 жыл бұрын
a Sewing machine it's like buying a car it's a very personal thing on what you like. But I can recommend is that you buy from a local shop where you can get the support and help that you need. They can also recommend the best machine for your budget.

Please don't laugh but I have never used the pedal this way with the low side toward you .....That's right I have always put the high side toward me ...instead of using my toes to push down .......I place my heel on the top and push down with my whole foot..........I have never had the pedal to slide doing it the way. I think my Aunt taught me to do it this way
