This is a good example of the differences between an analyst and a coach: Analyst = looks at past results; Coach = recognises and nurtures future possibilities.

After this interview Ange's life was seriously negatively affected, both in a professional and personal sense. He was really concerned that it would define him and his career and he hit rock bottom. However, despite Foster's inappropriate treatment of Ange, he pulled himself up by his bootstrings, came back even stronger and like the true gentleman that he is, was willing and able to move forward and reconcile with Foster, no hard feelings. And this is what we love about Ange, who not only shows us that we can pick our lives up when faced with injustice and adversity, but that it is better to make amends with others instead of holding grudges and hatred. So not only a superb mananger but a brilliant human being and role model!

i have ange as coach this year at Port Melbourne.. he is an excellent coach. i used to play 4 oakleigh cannons in premier league.. and the pre-season fitness training i did there is nowhere near as good to even compare to the training im doing under ange. Even tho the team ange had wasnt performing.. its not ALL up to the coach. the players have to do their part of it too.. which they ddnt do. half the aussie youth are fkn shit & are only there cos their dad has a big wallet.

As much as I appreciate Craig's contribution to the game & his work on SBS, explaining & teaching young players in his analysis of football matches, the fact of the matter is after watching this interview, he is not an Aussie selector therefore has no right to ask or suggest a National team coach to step down, regardless of his knowledge of the game. Thats what sports codes have selectors for! I personally saw it as a personal attack & Ange should get an apology from Foz, if he has any class

As a rangers fan! Ange seems to be a great guy an speaks well. There’s good and bad times for clubs an national teams. He’s managing a club that is my teams enemy lol but the bitterness isn’t there with me anymore. He is giving young boys a chance at Celtic and it’s only going to benefit our national side 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I watched this interview live. Foster showed he had no understanding of youth development, and how it works and, worst of all, wasn’t interested. Former player and journalist and in practical sporting terms of low IQ. He substantially lost me. Ever since, I’ve analysed what Foster says more closely. Opened my eyes. But it was an interview that got me looking into Ange more. And I followed his progress after that. As a youth coach myself (netball and basketball) I immediately understood where Ange was coming from, and it wasn’t just the scoreboard, where ultimately Foster comes from. 👍

i think some people should understand that ange is doing well with brisbane right now primary because he finally got all his coaching licenses when he coached the youth teams he had very little qualifications outside of a b license hence why he generally failed every single time we need all our coaches studying and getting all their credentials before they coach professionally. thats everything from afc A and B license.

As soon as Foster was named SBS Chief Analyst he thinks he is smarter than anyone in the world. Typical english attitude where a high position means that you are better than anyone else. Pity he couldn't prove it on the soccer field. And when the offer for Socceroo coach was even mentioned to him, he hid in the corner like a scared puppy.

Ange was stiff, with his tenure coinciding with the black hole between the demise of the old NSL and the new A-League. Even now, the players produced by the A-League clubs don't seem to be of the overall quality of the likes of what was produced/groomed by the likes of Melbourne Croatia (Viduka, Simunic, Culina, Tiatto), Sydney Croatia (Bosnich, Zelic, Cahill, Kalac, Slater, Jedinak, Popovic) and Marconi (Schwarzer, Kewell, Okon, Farina, Vieri).

@lolz3626 hey i agree with that dude... i said it in my initial comment, "congratz to Ange on his success with Roar" it is something different to the game, at least the way it is played in Australia... Craig Foster can go over the line a lot of times but if he is right about one thing it is this "the mentality in australian football society has to change"... fitness is one, if not THE most important thing in this sport but anyone can work on becoming fit, WHAT ANYONE CANNOT HAVE IS TALENT!

Craig Foster is a great commentator of our game both here in Australia and abroad. Whilst people may not agree with his comments he is non the less creating news/controversy about our game. We need more of it. It sickens me that we get pages and pages of mindless rubbish in our papers about RL and AFL when at the end of the day those journalists are simply writing anything to keep themselves in job. We need more Craig Fosters in our market for bringing these issues to light

i seriously don't understand football in australia... they say u need to make the A League and then the national team to get a spot in europe... the only exciting prospect of playing A league is getting o play on fox sports every week and looking good in front of the cameras. U won't get an A league contract unless u have played 26 premier league games and scored 28 goals, even then, u might be signed on a short term contract

DEFENDER5011 - "Fozzie is a better analyst then Ange Postecoglu is a coach." Too right, don't quite know why Fozzie was so unprofessional in attacking him but I think Craig Foster is a man dreaming of bigger things, taking out his frustration on the quality of the Australian system on a coach just doing his job. I applaud Postecoglou for defending himself but like fozzie said, they should have the technical ability to beat the likes of laos and china!
