This teaching is great. Have been working on the Deep to Shallow video for some time but this is more advanced . The hand positions esp in the follow through can be difficult, I've found it very helpful to practice clasping your hands in front of you interlocking all your fingers then pushing your right wrist backwards with your left hand, then push your left wrist back with your right hand, that gives you the follow through position perfectly. It is hard to get out of the old turning-over movement. Try this!

It is GREAT downswing but if you have anterior-right knee issues be very careful not to use that right knee to initiate this move. Instead let your hips lead this action an let the right leg just come along for the ride. I love golf and miss my strong right knee action because it make this move possible. I have since modified this move by concentrating on clearing my hip as part of this fabulous down swing that Craig illustrates here. All I then add is a little more active right arm and hand to apply the hit. I'm almost back to my old distances and with a ProV1 golf ball I can make up the distance I get at the range.

Nice one Craig. (Weight more towards heels helps me as well.) 2. Put yourself behind a tree with any iron that can just get over if struck well. If you are coordinated your body will create the swing that is required to achieve the desired ball flight. 🏌️♂️🔥

Try just moving your lower body...my thought is laterally while keeping your head still...before you start down. The key for me is move your lower body first and let the club fall from the top...with gravity. You can always collect it at the bottom. Your arms will always be quicker than your lower body. I just try to feel my arms falling from the top without any effort.

The ‘lift’ part has always thrown me a bit; with the fact that the head may move forward it may interfere with the idea of a proper hip turn? Probably because I’m older, so lifting the lead shoulder means everything moves up; dropping the trail seems better? For me, I work on keeping my trail knee inside the line as the trail hip turns; which means the lead hip should feel like it’s dropping back and almost down. The drill I’m thinking of is like sitting/pushing back in an office chair with the lead leg. It seems important that the lead leg doesn’t fully straighten until in the follow through and end of turn; but here the golfer is turned, tilted and extended at impact. Sigh. More pieces to work on.

Questions... All the players that you have referenced in your video, have you met them or have you spoken to them? If you have met or spoken to them what have they said as to why they swing the club like that. If you have not met or spoken to them, why do you believe the reason is that they swing the club like that. I would like to know if it is a case of being more accurate, having more distance or is it just less wear and tear on the body? It's all good trying to replicate someone but there needs to be a reason why. I'm glad you made this video but I need to know if it's just your analysis or this is based on their word?

@@CraigHansonGolf So you spoke to all the players you mentioned and they all told you why they swing like that ? I'm not trying to be a smartarse or belittle you in anyway. If it's just your analysis then I guess it would mean less because you wouldn't know why they swing that way.

@@TheVegemiteGuy5941 So your opinion is that although many players and ball strikers swing this way, and have been coached that way (it isn’t exactly a mystery technique), and that although everyone says it creates more power and compression because the swing uses the whole body to move through the ball (it’s commonly known why, and is well explained in the video); that if Craig hasn’t personally had all of the players tell him why they each swing this common way, then it isn’t as useful? You ‘need’ to know if it’s based on their word? You win idiot of the week. Congratulations.

The Euros sure do love the sound of their voices with all meaningless words they use to explain something.

If you do the opposite of what Craig says (using your upper body/turning level in the downswing (approximately 6:14 in the the video), eventually you will injure your lower spine. I’d like to strangle the pro who taught me the opposite of what Craig says, because I wound up having my spine fused.

This move puts a great deal of stress on the lower back
@CraigHansonGolf5 күн бұрын
Do the best you can.. it doesn’t put stress on the back for everyone .. if you have poor flexibility, you’ll notice it that’s why I mentioned several times in the video and I repeat myself again. Do the best you can with what you have. We all still want to swing as dynamic as we can once again in the video, I said I don’t expect people to swing like these young top professionals, but I do expect people to swing better. Hopefully you get the idea now that it’s written and said several times.

I like Craig a lot. Disappointed to see the connection with Performance Golf though. They are just trying to monetize every aspect of the swing. Buy this 6 episode series on Lag, or putting, or flush contact etc etc. can't blame a guy for trying to make a living I guess. But most people need to hold on to their wallet.

I very proud to be excited to share my swing style that i created Deep to Shallow. Through Golf Performance i will now be able to do Golf Schools in the states. I will be able to reach millions of people instead of busting my arse in youtube and watching videos flop because the title isn’t ridiculous enough. Working with them and Eric Cogorno was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
