Kristen Stewart already starred in a film that did almost this exact kind of spin on the story over 12 years ago: Snow White and the Huntsman (2012). It's not directly based on the Disney version but shows literally most of the same major story beats as what this trailer depicted: The kingdom once ruled by Snow White's father is corrupted by the evil Queen. Snow White meets the huntsman who spares her life, flees into the woods, eventually inspires a revolution, and leads a band of underdog rebels against the Queen's forces to restore the kingdom's former glory. Her romance with the prince is also not focused on (His kiss doesn't even wake her). It was basically Snow White, if she was more like Joan of Arc. While it advertised itself as more of a reimagining than an adaptation, at the very least, it was more entertaining as a dark fantasy action film. Charlize Theron's performance as the evil Queen carried the movie and was more memorable imo. Rachel Zegler's basically doing a more Disneyfied reskin of Stewart's take, minus the sword, armor, or Chris Hemsworth.

The similarities are glaring though. Zegler's movie is advertised like some new spin on the classic story. From what this trailer and the promotion has shown us, it just looks like a watered down mix of the 2012 film + a few superficial aspects of the 1937 cartoon with a veil of CGI.
