Pete , my vote is for More voice-overs . Your descriptions of the Items are detail-rich . When you narrate , you are free of distractions that you would have on location , live , in the stores . . Watching your voice-overs combines the Introspective & Retrospective ~*

The voiceover is great because you have time to add thoughtful hushed comments. You aren't distracted as much in the store. It almost felt like I was watching a PGA golf game. :-)

TIP: XM Radios with lifetime subscriptions sell for over $200. I got one at a yard sale for $5. It’s a lottery ticket: you need to connect power and an antenna to find out if it gets service because it has a lifetime subscription.

Voice over commentary is great. It gives you some time to think about what you want to say and we get a more refined audio track. Totally cool. As you walk through the store your comments resonate with me, especially looking for those rare original oil paintings! There's gold in them thar hills!

Peter I NEVER USE UPS I often sell large heavy items & I only use Fed Ex Ground never an issue with addresses unless it's a PO BOX they will not deliver it to a box but that's easily remedied by stating that in your listing. The items ship quickly and the rate is very fair. More importantly for those who don't often buy heavy items, DON'T, unless you know the work & cost involved or make the item available for local pickup or you''ll get burned when shipping far exceeds what you quoted.

Pete, I agree with opening an account rather than go to the mom and Pop store to ship! However, I have one better than you on shipping. I have a good friend who works at a giant corporation (I won't name the company) that gets amazing shipping rates with Fed EX. This is due to leverage. The corporation allows its employees to use their rates and ship and then reimburse the company for the shipping expense via personal check. I don't bother my friend (I use to work there too) with smaller parcels, but every once and a while, I have to ship something that is bulky or heavy (Or both!) and I package it and drop it off at his house for my friend to take it in to work and to ship the following day. My advice to your SUBS is to also: 1) check with friends and family if they work at a large corporation. 2) Do they allow employees to ship and reimburse the company using their shipping accounts. 3) You may run into an issue if you have to file a claim, since the companies account will get the claim check and not you! But that risk is worth it to me as usually I paid a fraction of the cost for the sold item and I have not had to file a claim yet. The amount of money I saved for all the shipping saved me using this method would cover the "total loss" if something was lost or damaged.

That Canon camera was a sweet pickup. You'll do well with it. Re the Sirius/XM stuff, Stern is the only thing keeping them alive. When he finally retires they're done. I have a boombox unit with lifetime subscription up on ebay now and it's barely getting any views. a couple years ago it would have sold first day.

Interesting deal with the xm units. XM had at one time a promotion that offered lifetime activation, with all premium channels. Those go for very good money. Few hundred each, fast sellers, usually a few days. Basically plug it in, if it gets the howard stern and nascar channels, let it update if it doesn't shut it down, you found one.

Your Goodwills are sooooo much better than any I have ever been in. Ours are all overpriced, filled with junk and just generally a waste of time at least for flipping. I've been able to pull some nice cloths out of them to wear occasionally but nothing I felt like I could flip. They just don't leave any meat on the bone around here for flippers to make any money.

Hopefully you found the the cassette deck was an JC penny has brand. From the late 70’s early 80’s. MCS units were made by various Japanese companies like Panasonic, Sanyo. Use the main things wrong with older cassette decks is the need belts and a good cleaning.

I know this is old, but sometimes those XM radios have active a rare “Lifetime Subscription” on them. They can go for $100-$200. With a 2-Day return policy it’s worth checking them out. I’ve gotten 3-4 lifetime subscriptions off those old units.
