Greg. Excellent video. Very good explanation of the setting of the crane base and the marking technique. I did not understand the reason for the offset of the base screw which had to be done before the crane base is lowered. Can you explain the reason for it? Quality par excellence. Congratulations.

Hi Omar! I will try to show some as builts for it as there was nothing more required from us. I believe some report was done based on my survey and sent to crane contractor, I'll try to get it if it was more than my level&position survey.

A lot of the crane bases I've done recently have a level tolerance of -1mm /+0mm. Is this one the same. I don't trust EDM for this sort of tolerance so I use precision level. Do you do the same?
@SITENG
@SITENG 2 жыл бұрын
Hi brother😊 Not really, I used EDM always and that's enough for me. Just shooting reflector less on the top of legs and making sure it's set and fixed correctly, so there won't be any movement during the pour. Tolerances are always like that, maybe 2mm max. Anchor itself is not perfect so don't stress too much and they always bring some shims if the post pour survey shows some discrepancies. The tolerance have to be set so tight so the special care will be given while constructing 😁 Imagine how they all be looking if you would just said that 10mm will be fine 😂

@@SITENG all my recent cranes have been falcon cranes. They don't check anything beforehand they just erect it (without shims) and only determine if it's out of plumb during testing once it's up and running. I'll always get it to 0mm for level as the cost of sorting it out can be very high. I'm not to fussy about position if it's not close to a structure.

Yeah, definitely level is most important, but I am surprised they don't ask for as built before they coming. That's another problem, that some companies looking for extra money and looking for problems instead of solutions, so the best thing is actually go perfect as you do (always is anyway and keeps us safe and sleeping well)
