Crap hopper! Tamiya Grasshopper superG

The Super G came with the yellow shocks just thrown into a Grasshopper2 box with a little yellow Super G sticker in one of the corners. Some of the plastic part trees for the Grasshopper 2's suspension made its way into the kit, hence the black shock bottom. My kit had just had Grasshopper 2 building instructions and I had to just wing building the suspension as a kid.

The seller wasn’t honest about the super G I purchased about 4 months ago either. Told me the gearbox case was cracked, but failed to mention that the entire chassis tub was broken too. I think it was run over by a bicycle or something. My dayglow wheels have the stress fractures as well, but still pretty solid and should be fine since I won’t be abusing it. It’s fun to tell folks that there are parts on my car that you literally can’t replace and about as rare as it gets. Luckily, mine also came with a good fly sky transmitter, had a near perfect original body and I only paid $25 bucks for all of it. I picked up re-re parts and ordered a parts tree with the yellow lower shock collars from the UK since mine was missing one. Happy to say that it’s now fully restored

LOL! Feeling your pain. My last purchase R/C was a Custom Works Dominator. I was expecting a tragic pile of junk. This car was so pristine it's alittle embarrassing.

Yeah it happened to us on a WL TOYS A959b. It was much more rough than it was explained in the description. We kept it but only because the seller didn’t respond to my messages.

Yea I got a falcon few years ago and it never specifically said anything was wrong with it. But when I got it the bulkhead was broken. I was a little upset but I got it pretty cheap so I wasn't to mad about it

I have had a couple Ebay purchases go bad. Most recently I bought a vintage Traxxas Rustler and am planning on restoring it to 90's stock with the old Stinger 20 turn motor. I found one and it was listed as "Futaba parts and retro car toy." It had a handful of Futaba servos and receivers along with a complete however filthy Rustler. When it arrived it had none of the Futaba radio gear or servos and it was missing a shock for some reason. If nobody else claimed the Magnum and receiver I would gladly pay shipping for it. Let me know! Thanks!

Sorry about that, really unfortunate those wheels are getting harder to find now. Hopefully the can be used somehow, I believe the lower shock/spring collars are yellow not black like on the fire dragon

If bought off eBay , use the buyer protection option. I’ve had to do it once or twice cause of the same issue. Sorry you got a bad item, but things do work out for the best.

Been burnt many times in the past and deffinetly know the feeling , did he say that the wheels and shocks were in good condition or did you ask him those specific questions? Because sounds like you just told him you wanted that super g for the wheels and shocks , you dint mention anything about asking him about the condition of them . just by the way it looks anyone would assume the wheels and ahocks would be in the same condition as the rest of the buggy.

i get this a lot most of the time 80% item are good most stuff ...i all so like the super g .. did u know that there is 3 different wheels that came out with the super g ...my story i got a radio off ebay and it didnt work at all so i ask if i could get half the money back but seller said no so i ship the item back oversea lol cost me more then the item but seller put works great very good remote etc but got a full refund because item didnt work had pic to prove it

I’ve been wanting to build a 1/10 scale buggy for a while and have been looking at either a grasshopper 2 or a holiday buggy, what is your opinion on it, looking for something I can bash as well as race against my brothers traxxas bandit, would it be worth it to build it up from the chassis like you have or just getting a new kit?

Also, order yourself a set of vanquish VQS shocks… That will make the car far more controllable than the factory pogo sticks. If you really get saucy go for the ampro engineering rear gearbox support
