"Crappie fishing just before a cold front"

We are Crappie fishing just before a cold front. the Arctic cold front is almost here , So I decided what a good chance to catch some Crappie.
we use a hand tied jig and bobber with a live minnow to get theses guys to bite. Caught some good ones. It's cold out here but good fun. Hope you enjoy

I was happy to see another video up! Some nice crappie that you caught. I just got those hair jigs from Amazon delivered today and I’d like to try them out tomorrow on some crappie. It’s supposed to get down to 21 tonight with a high of 40 tomorrow then dropping to 15 tomorrow night here in South Carolina. Great video!

Yes sir. I'm glad you got the jigs. I have good luck with them. It's been getting down in the teens every night here. I prefer days in the afternoon when the temps get above the 30s. It's a little easier to fish during that time unless the wind is blowing hard then it's super cold. Thank you

Man I hate to do it but you earned a D for being ready to fish. Man takes and cuts that jig off and puts a brand new one on. Put a file or hook sharpener in your fishing bag or box and a hg alf dozen jigs. Before you leave the house make sure you check things to be ready to get a A for being ready💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍🏾

Do you think the hull slap noise affects the bite? As for cold weather, i dont go unless its at least low 70s. lol And its been very cool over here this year.

Yes sir. Noise does spook crappie. So I always try to be as quiet as possible. Sometimes I get lucky and they're still hanging around. Yes I prefer 70° too. I just Love catching fish so much that I will bundle up and face the cold ❄️ 🥶.

@@FishYanker Yes i feel that it hurts the bite also. I have a jon boat similar to yours, and it does get noisy when theres a chop on the water. As a rule i use a long rod and just go very slow along the weed edges. Sometimes i have a second rod on the opposite side. So i think the noise affects it more than when casting away from the boat. Mostly i use 24th oz jigs with a Bobby Garland or other grub, rarely ever use a minnow on them. I have to travel out of my way in order to get them, otherwise i might use them more. The Gulp minnow alone on the small jigs works well also, as do the minnow look grubs. FIN ESE makes some good ones as does Moondog bait co. They make some nice Blugill baits also.

5" 11. 198.lb my vest is a little big but it is Size 2X men. Yes sir winter is tough to fish sometimes, Especially when it gets in the low tenps.
