Seeing you doing the Relics and the Dev Time Trials encouraged me to do the same, and after a lot of time, I finished all dev trials in CTR NF, and all platinum Relics in Crash 1 and 2. I'm halfway through the 3rd game, and plan on doing It's About Time afterwards, and this series really helped my enthusiasm in doing the plat Relics! In Crash 2 I think the worst times were Crash Crush and Hangin' Out, which have really strict times, so good luck on Hangin' Out :) And some tips for Crash 3, are that in underwater levels, is better to keep spinning to go faster, rather than quicking fast, and in normal levels, you can go in front of the clock, and use the bazooka to activate it, so you save some time :)

When sliding under the electric barrier in the chase levels, I think you can spin at the end of the slide so Crash does not stop for a second to get up. A slide jump is better, but if you do not want to jump, do a spin instead.

hey, just a tip! instead of slide jumping everywhere do slide spin instead it still continues the slide's momentum without putting you in a bad spot like slide jumping would also it would make breaking boxes easier and keep moving.

Aside from a few levels that give you a gem if you complete them as quickly as possible, Crash 2 simply wasn't designed with relics in mind overall and the remastered collection clearly shows that. With that in mind, I would have liked the remastered devs to have been at least a little more lenient with the plat times.

And there's nothing wrong with adjusting them afterwards. Redout 2, a high speed racing game, adjusted their time trials after release, since they were apparently just way too strict for most players to hit.

Yeah, I definitely agree. The addition of the Speed Shoes doesn't help things in Crash 2 either. I feel like they should have never added Speed Shoes to Crash 2 (some levels just aren't built for high speeds) and then extended the Relic times to compensate. Crash 2 is great for the normal game, but is absolutely maddening if you're going after Platinum Relics.

Nah, plat times are optional even for trophies. They should be very difficult. Lewis wasn’t slide jumping hardly at all in his runs and that adds to the struggle.

Im on team "the relics are fine and DO NOT change them". Not only is the regular one players are expected to earn Gold, which have pretty lenient times, but platinum times shouldnt be lenient. Like at all. I get using running shoes, cuz its the option the game gives you, but if you dont like it then PLEASE just switch it out for different tech instead of making yourself suffer. I think it was because i barely used running shoes that i didnt find much difficulty in the Crash 2 platinums. Its been a long time so i might be wrong, but slide spinning felt faster than running shoes and consistent when it came to measuring jumps. I hate sayin it, cuz its barely ever valid, but this REALLY feels less of a time and game issue, and more of a *skill issue* 🤠

Good job on getting Plat for Crash Crush. That's legitimately one of the Top 10 hardest Plat for me. World 3 while not as hard as World 4, it's still a very tough one. Sewer or Later and Road to Ruin has a very tight timing, both being in the 30 seconds range for Platinum. Bear riding in this world is personally the hardest one to Plat, even though it's sometimes interchangeable with Totally Bear for other people. Plant Food is Aku Sacrifice: The Game, while Un-bearable is actually more Bearable than Crash Crush while tougher than Crash Dash.

in my opinion, crash 2 relics difficulty SHOULD be the standard. a platinum should not have a forgiving time and allow for multiple mistakes. and the devs made a good compromise by locking all achievements behind gold relics so more people can get them. plats should be for NERDS ONLY

I will rate based on your previous skills And provide some advice based on that , next level ,plant food, be fast at the first 10 second and it we’ll be easy plat and funny level , next , sewer or later , trust me it well be the funniest level very fast level get 3 mask and fly next ,bear down, Just memorize the places a little easy level like the past levels , next ,road to ruin, just move fast very easy time next ,un-bearable, Like the rest, you have to repeat until you remember the places, but do not worry, it is easier than the rest next ,hangin’ out, hard time but funny level just like ,generator room, next ,diggin’ it, Maybe the easiest level, 1:36 for plat I got 1:22 with misteks next ,cold hard crash, it’s hard but trust me When you apply the steps it will be much easier just like ,the lab, this are the next 8 levels

Lewis you need to learn to slide-spin, it makes everything so much more optimised. With electric fences especially, slide-spin; slide under the electricity and then spin. It keeps the momentum going.

I definitely agree with you Lewis on the timer should stop when you reach the end of the level, not when you reach the ending chamber. Or they should have made it so when you get to the chamber, the Relic is positioned where the Gem would be and it changes colour depending on progression during the time trial, and once you obtain the Relic, the timer stops.

The one part in Plant Food is where you need to take out all the Piranha Plants before getting on the board because you can't pass through between the 2 plants or they'll snatch you even when you boost pass them. Unless you save your masks.

Alright, Road to Ruin and Ruination are not very hard, but here's a tip that will make your time trials easier: long jump. There are hazards that are quite hard to avoid while trying to breeze through these levels, like the fire-spitting statues which are constantly moving and the infamous rotating pillars. You can save a good deal of time if, instead of waiting on every cycle, you can do a precise slide followed by a spinning jump, like you did in Turtle Woods to skip the pits.

I got beehaving plat first try, and i will have to say i found it quite easy, as if you dont spin the mud and keep at a consistent pace, you should get it easily just dont overuse slide spin

I think the Jetboard levels are pretty forgiving. As well as a select few random levels. Ruination comes to mind. But yeah, the strict times make this game very obnoxious. I even did them over the weekend. Compared to 1 and warped they just aren’t as fun. Especially with every level ending in a stupid long hallway that adds like 5 whole seconds

I... what? How does that make an ounce of sense lmao. Some time trials in any Crash game can be obnoxious, especially for the highest relic tier. Crash 2 is no different. They did test them. Otherwise, they wouldn't be in the game. Only running requires you to play with extremely minimal mistakes. Running and slide jumping allows you to do some mistakes because you're going faster, which allows you to do some mistakes. Time trials are not meant to be done first try. It's in the name: "Trial", implying Trial and Error.
