Agreed. I can only play the game for like 4 minutes, then I've done everything I can. After than, I've got to wait an hour for my resources to be ready. Then I take those resources to make other resources, then I have to wait another hour. I guess this game is good when you're just taking a shit, and you only need to play it for a couple of minutes, but that's about it.

Good video, as always Jak, I could feel the frustration on the screen. And we had a quick show of the problems of life service games. Endless grinding for every single detail, artificial slowdown with pay-to-speed, skins with advantages, so they pressure you to do it with both the need to speed the process *and* the "I need a new skin or I'l be lame in multiplayer". And the "I've spent too much time on this so I can't stop now". Truly, the worst. ... Now, I'll get back to FGO.

I thinks it's fun to play, and visually and audibly stunning for a mobile game. But, it is a mobile game after all. The consumer aspect always kills my desire to push on. I played the closed Beta for a few days back in September and loved the game. Haven't touched the full release because I'm home all the time. Our school is closed and everything is handled over distance learning. I'd rather spent my time completing Crash 4 first. This game will probably be my daily driver once life goes back to normal though. Really hope it gets more content until then. But yeah the game seems to be exactly what I expected. I never spent money for any in-game purchases in mobile games and I highly doubt this game will be able to bait me.

It’s interesting to come back to this review because the game changed so much since 2021! Like, they redesigned the menu, they made collection runs more challenging, power-ups were added (wumpa vacuum & tornado spin) & they reduced the grinding considerably. This game is a much better experience than it was in 2021. However, these changes come too little too late because the game’s popularity lost steam over time

I was all excited about seeing Mr. Crumb getting featured in Crash on the Run when they announced it. Pretty much why I love these recent Crash spin off games, going all out with characters and elements, especially giving more obscure characters new life. And I'm fine with the whole Iron Checkpoint Crate thing being a running joke. Crates have always been a staple for Crash and at least it's something that exists in universe. And I find that less offensive than say, Sonic Forces shoving in that Sanic T-Shirt into the game because "hurr hurr some random hater did a shitty drawing of Sonic, let's pander to that rather than reference any of our own characters durr hurr hurr"

I’ve been playing crash games for over 20 years now so naturally I was excited for crash on the run but watching this just makes me think they missed out so many things which make it feel like a crash game and boy is it repetitive. I would love if there was a second crash game on mobile to have warp rooms with five levels in each, proper boss fights and none of this auto run crap, I wouldn’t mind having a virtual joystick and buttons as controls. To me crash is at its best with this formula also auto run feels like it’s forcing you to go somewhere when I would rather explore at my own pace also having to wait to carry on playing the game is not fun at all - rant over. 😤😤😤

This one genuinely gets to me because I really do like Crash and the art style for this game looks nice, especially the model used for Crash and coco here, but unfortunately for myself at the end of the day, I'm just not into mobile games, even if the games look good and it's not because I think they're bad or anything, I'm just not on my phone all that much compared to most other people and because of that, I don't feel the inclination to play mobile games as much. Like, I actually did download this game and played a little bit of it when it came out but I only got through a handful of levels and then I stopped playing and haven't played it since and that's just the unfortunate nature for me when it comes to my phone and mobile games. I would just rather play games on a console/TV. I'm not sure why this is because I grew up with the Game Boy Color and then Game Boy Advance and played those but for some reason, I just never got into mobile gaming and I very rarely play handheld games much at all these days. But from what you shared here about the game, it does seem like they weren't as innovative as they could've been and if the formula of the game didn't even change much to where it incorporated other themes and actions to help differentiate then it's probably for the best that I didn't get into it because that sounds boring lol. Anyway, nice review!

The thing that I don't like mostly about any mobile game is how the game currency system works, in this case on how the real money is used to buy crystals. When you accidentally tap on the use the crystal to unlock/achieve specific element in the game, there is no confirmation yes/no if you really want to use the crystal. So that crystal you own is literally being spent even if you didn't meant to.

What makes me so annoyed is that we have so much power in our hands, 5 year old high end phones are more powerful than the Xbox 360, yet with few exceptions, game dev studios are almost willfully blind to the opportunities avaliable to them. If Mind Over Mutant can run on the PSP (and can be emulated in 60 FPS in 1080p on 5 year old mobile phones) then a AAA gaming experience can be made for mobile. Anything that runs on the Switch would run a bit better on modern phones. I understand that most people don't own mobile gaming controllers, but it's such a missed opportunity. Turn phones into the next handhelds! Change 50 bucks for the game, and 30 bucks for the controller. It's too obvious, there must be something I'm missing. Why are all devs missing out on getting to charge 50 bucks for a mobile game and giving us trash like this instead? We have power in our pockets and we have only a few old ports to take advantage of it. 7th gen games really need to be ported to mobile platforms, but I think the new trend of "rent instead of own" is pushing us towards streaming on our phones instead of actual games on our phones.
