Hello Iman, thank you. The individual Fourier and LTI lectures were excellent. I am not really interested in signal processing, but, your lectures are so useful, I will start at the beginning and watch the whole course. My real interest is optics, but the mathematics are the same and what I am learning here is the foundation I need before going back to Goodman's Fourier Optics.
@Kuchdelan4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! Thank you very much for your kind words and feedback. Good luck with optics and hope to have you in my channel in the future!

@@Kuchdelan Hello Iman, I finally understand fundamentals of Fourier Transforms. Your lectures were an outstanding start. I also watched 11 lectures from Stanford's EE Fourier Transforms and Applications class and found a couple of good books. I am almost ready to start 2D functions and optics. I have to say math texts were almost useless, only EE materials useful and signal processing easiest to understand.

Around 4, those different theta values for each quadrant - are we to have a clue as to what makes it so, or is it another "one of those things," that we'll just have to take genius' word for it?
@Kuchdelan5 жыл бұрын
You don't actually need to memorize this ;) Just keep in mind that the angle (theta) is always between -pi and pi (this corresponds to one full circle). This will give you the best clue! For example imagine a point in the third quadrant. If you move counterclockwise from the positive x-axis, the angle goes beyond pi. This means you should move clockwise (which means negative angle). When you reach to the point (which is in the third quadrant), you have rotated -pi plus theta. Hope this helps!

I’m interested in understanding signal processing, being a musician and getting interested in amateur radio. However, I understood 0% of this video and this video is only the first entry in the series. Are there recommendations on videos to watch to bring someone with only a high school level of maths up to the level needed to understand this video?
