Even my table is vibrating, when he sings "mmmmmmm"

When this track was released back in 1993 , it took about 2 years to get the song out of my head. Now I accidentally stumble upon it 30 years later and it is stuck in my head again - I don't think I will ever shake it off this time. I'm also pretty sure that the lead singer of this track was indirectly responsible for spawning the large sideburns fashion between 1993-95 because people with long sideburns kept cropping up everywhere at the same time.

This song must hold great meaning to this guy to have such emotion behind his look when singing it. It clearly hurts him to do so as the backup singer can attest too at the end by looking at him. Thank you uploader :)
@simond77138 жыл бұрын
just discovered this version as of today. On the words (cause) "one kid" (had it worse than that) Brad raises his finger and on the church part he referes to the pentecostal movement. So he was the boy, who had it "worse than that".
@smilinachya7 жыл бұрын
yuppyhater - I wonder if he WAS that "one kid" or if he just has an aversion for Christianity and wants to paint "Pentecostals" in this light. That's unfortunate if that's the case because in 28 years in Pentecostal churches I've never seen no "shaking" or "lurching all over the church floor." 😁. Still like the song though, believe it or not!

His voice, according to him, on a late night talk show interview (I can't remember which one, but it was recent as of this post), comes from smoking and drinking 'neat' whisky from a really young age, but giving up the smoking after a number of years. It does, at least, explain why he only holds a note for a second or two.

I have tried to understand inspiration of this sort. This is not personified. But this is god. The good. Not a person. More like a way. A wavelength. Love. Truth that frees from lies and slavery. A choice but not a chosen being. Anyone can become this. Those which can demonstrate this are happy. They inspire that. You certainly do that. Grats! Thanks. Much respect.

By the way, I couldn't really find much about it but are the lyrics based on something or are they completely made up? They sound really heavy loaded with background, even when he sings it here it looks somehow intense and emotional.
