Crawl Out Through the Fall Out! Fallout 4 Power Armour [How I Paint Things]

The T-51 suit of power armor was the height of battlefield protection when it was introduced during the Battle of Anchorage, and two hundred years after the bombs dropped, it's still some of the most formidable gear available to those who can make use of it. An absolutely iconic bit of Fallout gear, power armor's look has been tweaked and changed over the years, but it is still clearly a powerful instrument of war.
...and war? War never changes.

Fallout is great. I love post-apocalyptic stuff. Anytime I'm painting up stuff for This Is Not A Test I always make sure to add some dirt and rust. It's just a fun part of the process.

Here's a challenge do another t51 suit but in either the nuka cola or vim pop paint schemes or do the xo1 armor in the nuka quantum paint scheme

Great tutorial, not that complex of a paint scheme and theoretically could be used on more than just T-51 power armor, it could be used on other versions of power armor or even space marines

It's one that'll take a little time to get to, but very much in the 'eventually' pile. If it helps in the meantime, I've done Napoleonic British troops and there's a good 200 year or so period where the advice is basically the same across almost all British soldiery.

They don't stink half as much as people seem determined to make it sound, but an apartment might be pushing it! Better to stick to the kits, I guess!

Can you tell me what brushes you use for the detail painting, please? How do you keep such a fine point on them?

The smaller brush is a Character brush from Army Painter. If you're getting an issue with bristles splitting while you're painting, just lift your brush away and draw a line on your palette with it, 'twirling' the brush in a little paint. You'll find it helps drag things back together. Rinse your brush regularly while you're painting to keep paint from drying in the bristles, too; it doesn't have to be constant, but after every few minutes on a warm day just rinse it out, get some more paint and carry on.

Tips for drybrushing for newbies: When drybrushing and you feel like you've ALMOST done enough, STOP. (far too easy to overwork an area when drybrushing)
