Great quick view, as with all things in life it's easy to get lost in the manusia it's good to shake your head and readjust your perspective once in a while, like you said sitting on a glide bench playing with toy cars, life is good. Thanks as always.

They already make dual stage tpu inserts. They even have foam rods to put in the gaps to make them more firm.

I'm only 7 minutes into this video so I haven't seen your results with these inserts just yet, but I have high hopes. I have those same tires and the rubber compound feels (and smells) sooo good! However, I just haven't been able to get them to perform as good as they should. The tread blocks are so tall that they fold over very easily. We just need to find the right insert that provides enough support for the tread while being compliant enough to conform to surfaces. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of this quick(re)view,

Looks like i'll be mounting these tonight, I'm excited to try them on the trail. We've had a lot of rain here, so my closest trail is all mud, and these look perfect for it.

I asked you a few weeks ago about element axles, I've gone though a few axle shafts now, the universal pin keeps breaking or wearing out,(yfgxfxf, 1800se, ruptures). I'll have to look into upgrading the c-hubs. Please do a follow up if you find more about it.

The Chub twist is certainly not helping. It also makes me think further-- I haven't had this issue on other rigs, but there are SO many variables at play: Baseline gets an absurd amount of wheel time; (I think) every other Element save or the Banana is on "hard" housings, so quite likely less twist from the Chubs; Yella, who is on the consonant-jumble chassis... has aluminum SSD Chubs. Maybe I had "pre-cured" the problem without knowing it was a problem?

I’ve been working on a tpu insert that supports a single stage foam to give more sidewall support and make it behave more like a dual stage foam. I’d like to send you a set once I’ve done more testing.

Really enjoyed this review.I ordered the fake KLR M's after watching your first video on them as overall they seemed pretty darn good for the price. I them with the Injora 2 stage foams that have the blue EVA foam vs the heavier blue rubber Injora 2 stage. Have to say though that the fit of the Injora 2 stage is really nice as the fit the fake KLRM's nicely so can't wait to get them out in the next week or two. I was amazed how soft the tires are so will see how they work at the places I run them. EIther way price wise for both the foams and tires are hard to beat.

I’ve had pretty good luck with these on my Basecamp so far, but I have noticed that they seem to grab best at either a super slow crawl or with at least a 3/4 helping of the beans. Mine don’t seem to like a mid range wheel speed when climbing. Most of the time I get the best forward drive when they are barely even rotating. Could just be the terrain I’ve got, but that’s what they seem to like around here anyways.

Been running the injora dual stages with the knockof super swamper to some success. Now switched up to the pro line super soft ones to try and squeeze some more grip out. The injora duals definitely don’t fill out the Pro lines the same way.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Injora are quite a bit smaller. But opposite side, the Pro-Lines (and Timtins) are absolutely crammed into a smaller height/width tire like the KLeRMs.

speaking of element rc's and the stock reedy rtr motor. So i have a project using a Trailrunner chassis, IFS, changed body, added Cantilever suspension in the back(needs realy soft springs, but WIP). I took it for a quick test yesterday on some rocks under neighbors balcony, half fist sized sharp. I fully now understand why you dislike that motor, i got the stock radio, and 1080g1. So darn slow and it felt almost sloppy the motor. I do have a surpass rocket 5slot, 540 sized 20turn, need to try that for fun.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
The 550 Reedy Crawler motor is bad, the 540 is just flat out terrible. It's kind of impressive how little torque it manages to generate. Also, most ANY motor can work in a crawler-- I had reasonable results with 15+ year old Tamiya stock class motors, while the Reedys are just woeful. Not to be indelicate, but anybody running a Reedy Radon likely got duped, because that's a $20 Surpass from Amazon with a different sticker on it. Decent motor, but "Reedy priced."

Hey mate, you ever get sidewall cuts along the dual stage/single hairbun interface? I’m not sure if I’m just unlucky but I’ve copped a few cuts there on my Timtins and the outer is only minority thinner than the inner which I thought could have been the problem I was having? Thanks for the vids, have a great weekend, the weather looks magic!
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
I haven't, but I can see how it could be a problem with some tires, particularly if they don't have the kind of "middle pouchiness" of say a Canyon Trail or most anything Duratrax. The inner foam is pretty dense, and if packed into the tire I would see leading to some potential for cuts. A lil' belt sander action on the inners to take 'em down a couple of mm's per side should be plenty. You usually want (with anything other than open-cell or big floofy hairbuns) a few millimeters between the sidewall and the insert.

My Injora foams must be different, they exact the same size and looks the same, but the inner blue foam is just hard foam, and a foam for a single wheels super light, just 11.5g for both the blue and white parts.

As a “re-badger” Injora sells a lot of stuff- they do at least three different types of dual-stage 1.9 inserts, and each of those in at least 2 sizes.

Interesting so so heavy, shorter inner is perfect on those tires, need softer outer. Short inner with double or triple wrap softer then the white on those ? Keep standards and classifications all the same as you have been.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
I'm gonna try replacing the foam outer with the polyethylene, see how that goes. If the rubber wasn't so dang soft I'd try grinding the lugs down, because I think if they were 3-4mm shorter, we'd be in a whole different ballpark.
@lastcreations8845
@lastcreations8845 Жыл бұрын
@@CrawlerCanyon yep poly wrap 2 or maybe 3 layers (on short inner) feels softer then the white outer ? agree on height, but at the same time really curious on stock height after they get wheel time to fully break in the lugs, visually looks like the lugs are not broke in just yet. Love the testing on these :)

I think the combos are still in the usable range, and the 70g per insert is still lighter than say than running brass rings. I think the outer open cell is a little too "reboundy" and the KLeRMs will respond a bit better to a softer, "more collapsible" outer stage.
