Welp...once you have enough practice and control of the basics, your body starts doing some weird shet in order to realize the comands of the brain like: -"Dude we've been throug this a lot already, just add the blind poke"
@BeinIan
@BeinIan 2 жыл бұрын
I remember moments like that when I played baseball as a kid. All the practice teaches your body how to move without thinking. So when a line drive is flying at your face, your subconscious doesn't have to wait for you to notice. You just catch it as a reflex and realize afterward how impressive it was. Or you just instinctively stick your glove behind your back because it's worth a shot, and the ghost of Yogi Berra guides your hand to the right spot.

The only thing I don't like about fencing is the fact that the rules, over time, conclude to stuff like this. That only works cuz you only need to touch them, and the force at which you touch them doesn't matter. So in a real fight a pro modern-fencer would be helpless.

Not really, sabre parries are all basically real parries, except 1 and 2 are lower for the counterpart to protect the legs a bit, footwork is useful somewhat though a bit strange to use, though many could get by, olympic lounges as in the super crazy ones would not work but normal lunges if not to low work. Also, when parrying one thing that would screw with them if not use to epee much is having to not just tap because there is bo right of way in real life. Also, some of the weird hits would work, but yeah a lot would not.

@@user-kr5gi7gg7d Sure it was silly but not everyone wants to get that physical. Now it's more a mater of chess and checkers. The best analogy i can give is... You respect chess and join a chess club. At this club you realize some people prefer checkers. Then, to your amazement, you see two people playing shoots and ladders in the middle of a chess club and when you look around people are laughing. Why? Because its silly. It's a silly thing to do the things he did but silly's why some come to youtube is all I'm trying to explain. Personally I don't like fencing but this was pretty funny to watch.

@luvizevol
@luvizevol 2 жыл бұрын
@@user-kr5gi7gg7d Well that's where your logic fails because this is in fact fencing. Look to the origins and it was still using an epee and similar to modern karate tournaments only light contact is permitted. If you change the weapon and change the rules and want harder contact then it's much more akin to hema. But now that's something totally different. Would you say the same for someone that's use to karate tournaments and a point system and say you don't understand why they don't participate in an MMA match? Well i suppose you would if I follow your logic but then its just not the same thing. Seems like you're taking a bite out of a clementine and saying you don't understand why it doesn't just taste more like an orange.

Could they not dip these swords in some fluorescent paint or something? When in motion as they’re bending and reflecting their surroundings it’s not that easy for the eye to track each opponent’s sword. (I don’t follow this sport in case that’s not abundantly clear)
