I was the quality assurance manager and when listening to calls I could take it over in my office if things got out of hand. I also took supervisor calls on the floor. If they had cursed at my employee it was game over and even if I could have done something for the customer I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t let them disrespect my reps even though they tended to kiss 🍑because I was a supervisor. Interesting fact people get enraged if they don’t get their phone books.

So when I get upset about something that I then have to deal with someone to fix. If I do start to raise my voice. I always apologize and say I'm sorry, I know you didn't do whatever is wrong. Then, calm myself down. If you stay level-headed and actually talk to the people like they are people, it always works out better in the end. Flying off the handle at people no matter the level the employee is. Never works out for the person who's mad. This world would be so much better if everyone just mind their own business. There is black dust crawling up the walls, so bad that if you were to touch it at all it would be snowing inside. The displayed signs hanging on the ceilings have chains that are covered with inch thick dust. And it's only up at the checkstands where I work, it is literally no where else in the store. And its because of this that I get very intense sinus infections, like my body has never hurt so bad with these sinus infections and I have scoliosis and pain from some of my chronic illnesses. Not to mention they take me out of work for weeks at a time and I'm unable to miss out on that money. I dont get sinus infections when I wear my mask, but I do when I dont. And that's proof enough for me that they work.

I had someone give me crap about wearing a mask in June 2020, at the height of Covid. I had been very sick with bacterial meningitis for the month of May, and it was the first day I felt strong enough to go to the store for much needed supplies. They told me I looked ridiculous because I had a mask, face shield, and disposable gloves I changed at every stop. The bacteria I had been infected with is called Acinetobacter Baumanni, AKA "Iraqibacter" because many wounded soldiers in Iraq lost lives and/or body parts to this nasty strain which can cause flesh-eating disease in people with weakened immunity or open wounds. It's what almost killed journalist Bob Woodruff. I had a "mild" case, so I was just unable to move my head or walk without severe pain in my spine for 2 weeks. I told the nosy person about the bacteria I could possibly be still shedding, and asked her if she REALLY wanted me to remove what I put on to protect HER?! I live in a community with many seniors, and I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I had spread that infection to others. My doctor said I was "likely" no longer infectious, but it's not difficult to just mask up, keep distance, and wash hands frequently. BTW, I still haven't had Covid, or even a cold since March 2020.

@@autumn1734 I always try to make the best of a situation. I've sewn all my life so I searched KZbin for instructions on how to make the best fitting comfortable masks. No surprise, the best designs were on channels from Japan and other Asian countries. I have a large stash of fun cotton prints, and I bought a pillowcase on sale that was 2000 thread count (tight enough weave to hold water) for the lining. I put cotton batting between the layers for extra filtration. I could still breathe, it kept my face warm and hid my ugly teeth.

What gets to me are all the people I hear complain about how rude and uncaring the DMV workers are. Funny, I'm almost 62 and I've never met a rude DMV clerk. In fact, recently I had one go above and beyond to help me. My car hasn't been able to pass smog inspection for almost 2 years, but I keep taking it to the mechanic when I can afford to get things fixed but the check engine light keeps coming back on. The car runs fine, and it's well below the emission standards so it's not a gross polluter like those big diesel trucks that most apartment dwellers drive in my area. I live off grid on 20 acres in a canyon, on a ranch with livestock. It takes me 20 minutes to drive the 3 miles of bad dirt road to get to a paved road so it would be nice to still have a big 4X4 truck like I used to, but I can't afford to spend over $100 for a tank of gas anymore. I bought a Hyundai with front wheel drive that gets excellent gas economy, and I fold the backseat down and carry 50 lb. bags of chicken and goat feed easily. I paid $800 for this car, 4 years ago, because it has cosmetic issues and no AC, but it's been the most dependable car I've ever had since living here. I pay my fees on time, and this sweet lady at DMV gave me some paperwork to show cops if I get pulled over that states the DMV is aware that I'm making genuine effort to get the problem resolved. I haven't been pulled over even though I know at least twice a cop followed me and ran my plate # to check. I assume they saw that I haven't had any violations in over 20 years, I'm fully insured, and my DMV fees are current, so they didn't stop me. Only person to give me crap was a volunteer at the food bank. I'm low-income and take care of my adult son who has schizophrenia, so we need help with food. This volunteer pointed out that my tags have been expired for more than a year (oh really? Ya think I don't know that, Karen?). I told her I haven't been able to take it to the shop because I need a ride back home after I drop it off, so... are you going to volunteer to help me with that? Yeah, I didn't think so.

I'm a health care worker at a specialty clinic. We had a patient come in a couple months back who refused to wear a mask. We required masks to be worn while in the hospital. When we told the gentleman who was there for a yearly check up he'd need to wear a mask, he began to throw a fit. He shook, slamed his body into our walls, banged on our windows. He called everyone in the office a communist and he needed to "kill commies for mommy". We spoke to security and the doctor. The doctor would still see him but security had to be with the patient and not allowed to go near other staff. He's still treated by the doctor but must do telehealth or have security if he must come into the office.

Did you consider popping him on a hold if "he needed to kill commies for mommy"? Because I would have done... You shouldn't be expected to deal with that. In my ED, we have bans in place for patients who abuse our staff and refuse to comply with the simple request to allow our staff to work safely and our patients to be in a safe environment. We will offer emergency life-saving treatment only for those who have been issued a ban, and then they have to find somewhere else. Unless there's a medical reason for their behaviour (which is obviously addressed differently), then they have to learn - you don't get to treat people like sh1t and still expect them to help you. I'm absolutely not going to risk my staff (or forego my duty of care to other patients) because one nitwit read something on Facebook. If they don't like it, they are welcome to go elsewhere. Their right to be foolish does not usurp the rights of staff to work (or patients to be treated) in a safe environment.

Regarding wondering why some places put up signs: If you think that the signs at the licensing office were concerning, the hospital I spent most of last year at put up signs last summer saying that violence towards staff members wouldn’t be tolerated. When I asked about them, I learned that multiple nurses had been attacked within the span of the same few weeks (and these were not the first incidents of violence against staff). And it’s in the nicer part of an already very nice city! One of my nurses last October happened to be one of the nurses who had been attacked. A patient’s family member attempted to strangle her. @LazyIRanch Жыл бұрын
I didn't even notice that she's Asian, I guess I was too busy admiring her "tooth". (Sorry, I guess that was mean) With the way many Americans with Asian heritage are being treated so hatefully, especially since Covid, you'd think she would have an ounce of compassion for others. I have a Facebook friend who was born in China but has been an American citizen since about 1970. She is one of the wisest and kindest people I've ever known. She worked hard to get her Masters degree, paid for her own college, and was hired to work as a White House staff member for Jimmy Carter. I feel lucky to know her. She's taught me a lot about how our government and politics works (and doesn't). When I was going through rough times she was always the person who knew exactly what to say that I needed to hear for encouragement. Now she's being harassed by racists who want to blame Covid on anyone who even resembles a Chinese person, and told to go back to "her" country. Her country is the USA, just like my great-grandparents' country was, in spite of them immigrating from Germany and never learning much English. We are all here because of immigration, even native Americans if you go back far enough! All humans' origin stories began in Africa. Difference is, when my great-grandparents came to Texas in the 1800s, they were given 600 acres of excellent farmland for free. That farm is still in our family, still a working farm/ranch and is how my ancestors were able to become successful and pass their wealth down to current family members. Now, some of my cousins who are descended from them are complaining that there's too many Vietnamese people who have built successful fishing businesses at the Texas coast where they live, and are making it hard for "Texans" to compete with them. I reminded my cousins that these immigrants came here, many as children, after their families were killed in an immoral war our country should have never been involved in, and he should be proud that these particular Texans came here with nothing but became successful through hard work, the way our ancestors did.

I'm waiting to see a video of me on here going off on a Walmart cashier a couple weeks ago. 😅 It was pretty mild as a Karen in the wild goes, no screaming and yelling, just very angry. My spouse is what the military calls total and permanently disabled. Which means in our state(US) he is tax exempt up to a certain amount every year. The tax commission have him 2 cards. 1 for him specifically and another one for his household to use. Walmart takes his card info and issues their own card and gave him 2, again one for him and one for his household. I handed the lady the card(I was by myself) and she looks at it and then very accusingly says: "Are you shopping for someone?" So I said "Yes, the household/me/ my spouse. Apparently she didn't believe me or something and instead of asking for my ID, she punches in a code and prints off a receipt and says: "This is saying you have to go to customer service, your card is invalid." And I'm like "BS, I watched you, you didn't even punch in the number, I'm not putting everything back in my cart, just to go have them tell me you lied and didn't punch in the 13 digit number." Then I said the magic words. One just happened to be walking by, took the card, punched in the number and it magically was just fine. So, I told the cashier next time, don't lie to me, be truthful and accuse me to my face, so I can again prove you wrong. Because it basically amounts to her accusing me of stolen Valor. this reminds me, the other day a karen came into my dental office, and made a scene and we almost had to call the cops... she came into my office, not the waiting room, she walked into the office and she just sat there and completely ignored me and the other dr that was with me and started looking at her phone and when we asked her how could we help, she started yelling and demanding to know my name and got super aggresive and made a scene. in the end she realized she was in the wrong adress and started throwing a tantrum and then she left. BTW Karen was american and all of this happened in MEXICOOOO not even in the US like why tf would they come here with that attitude

The ones who want English to be spoken in other countries, blow my mind. Are they so stupid they don't understand that other countries speak different languages, or is it sheer entitlement.

It's crazy to me how the Karen attitude exists. It's not that hard to be nice and If there's a misunderstanding it isn't that hard to listen and talk about it to fix it.
@kylaarmstrong-benjamin8066 Жыл бұрын
It's usually not a "misunderstanding" but an over inflated ego and ridiculous sense of entitlement of people who seem to believe, they should NEVER be made to "suffer" from ANY form of mild discomfort or minor inconvenience at all EVER period 🙄

I want to be clear about something, because the woman telling the story wasn’t clear: Psychologists aren’t medical doctors. But if they have Ph.D.s they’re pretty smart. Psychiatrists, on the other hand, Medical Doctors.

Being mad someone chooses to wear a mask is like being mad someone chooses to wear socks. It has literally 0 negative impact on anything at all.

I've never understood why people have such a problem with other people wearing masks. I'm not discussing whether masks are or aren't effective. For the sake of argument let's say masks have a 0% efficacy. What does it matter to someone that doesn't wear a mask whether a person is wearing one or not? It effects them the same as if they were wearing a hat or glasses.

It I'd concerning how someone who specializes in mental health could make those kind of comments. Even if the masks do not actually help, if they make someone feel safer and more able to cope with being in public spaces, isn't that a good thing? Why would she want to ruin that? Why would she say cruel and callous things to someone just trying to get through their day and feel safe doing so?
