Chasing grown men to pay up. You're much too kind.

I cannot imagine that guy was a very good mechanic either. Sad story. But good for you for standing up to him.

Screwballs a plenty, out there. I worked for a trucking company here in NJ. They had this 24 year old Class A, Diesel tech, who worked out of 14 Sears Craftsman tool boxes. (He bought at yard sales) But he was there every Saturday, and worked every holiday. I would kick him $100 to turn my truck up to 85, and the company would turn it down 6 weeks later. One day I pull in the yard, and Santo waves for me to come over. He had just bought a $65K Hunter Green, and Gold, Snap On box, that even had a car stereo system in it! (75th Anniversary??) When I tell you that kid was proud, and that he paid cash money. The tool trucks used to drive by him, now sat in a line hoping he'd buy something from them. He started with Craftsman tool, and earned every Snap On he had. The last time i saw him in 2008, he had over a Million in tools, and you could stull eat off his box, it was so clean. Thank Val, for all you do.

I’m 28 just starting out and I have old Craftsman boxes. I’m buying the best tools I can get paid in full. New technology that even senior techs don’t have. I read the books and do my best every day. I hope someday to have a nice box, but it’s a long way up, and every day is another step.

Guy where I worked quit, left at the exact time the snap on guy showed up. Dude was chasing him for his money.

It said on lot of different levels, but I am really surprised. It’s so many tool trucks even fooled with him and let it all go on that long, especially with the transferability of debt from one franchisee to another.

Unfortunately part of the tool dealers day. Quite often these non-paying guys are not very good mechanics either. The bosses find out their dog can do a better job changing oil so they let the guy go.

Hi Val. I used to have a dealer that would about every three months ask if I needed anything cheap. He was always repo-ing something. AVR’s to lab scopes , big ticket items. I never felt to sad about the dealer because it was always the same guy he was taking stuff back from.

In Living Color. No matter where or what I was doing on a Saturday night, I would come home to make sure I caught that show.

So sad. It's sad you had to chase him, and it's sad he couldn't manage his money, and grow responsibly. I've met this kind of guy, more then once, and it's always sad.

Would it be possible on you and your partner to do a video on what it takes to run a tool truck and how to get in the business

I first thought that everything in the box that you were going through was what you repossessed from him.

I think tool truck proces are too high for the average mechanic's wages. The mechanic has to be very disciplined if he/she is going to buy from the tool truck.

What do you do in case you don't receive the payments? Aside from reposess, because maybe a guy don't want to give you back the tools, what do you then?
